Dell means quality

I purchased this laptop a year ago and haven't had even a small problem with it.  It came with Vista and I upgraded to Windows 7 Premium without problems.  It remains a fast and dependable laptop, well worth its price.  It does get hot easily so a cooler pad or shelf will be nice. Ease of Use Very easy to use. Support built in to Windows. Battery Life Battery life is very good. I can use it about 4h continuously without having to use the plug in adapter. Support & Service You have Windows help built in but the support has helped me a couple of times in setting up software. Speed/Performance The speed is very good but I use a lot of graphics so I do refresh my computer using the recovery option at intervals and then it is like a new computer.

Dell 1526 speed for net only!

2

I have had my Dell Inspiron 1526 since 2007 and right away I had issues with it because it had Vista installed on it. I hated having vista as it would take forever to load even though it has a 3gb ram on this pc I have found that since I have installed Windows 7 on the pc It works a lot faster. I have also had other issues with this pc along the way such as having to replace the 6 cell battery that came with it it still dose not hold a charge like its supposed to I would not recommend buying this first hand as I feel that all you can really use it for is listening to music and going on the net. I would not install any word excel or power point presentations on here as it tends to slow it down for some reason I have had Dell look at it more than a couple of times and they can't " Fix the problem without replacing a lot of parts and why do that when you can buy a better pc for less?" direct comment from Dell so in short buy it USED from Ebay and only use it for net and music. Battery Life battery always has to be plugged in to wall

The Dell Inspirion 1526 is easy to use

4

The Dell Inspirion 1526 laptop is an easy to use product with easy to find help and friendly software. I can get online very easy and it is compatible with most printers and web cams. The Dell Inspirion laptop is very user friendly and my children find it very helpful when they have to use it for school and work. I can keep my daily routine running smoothly because of the reminders I schedule and this helps keep my day running smooth and on time. The children can keep their scjhool notes and study guides together, which helps them to study and do better in school. I can go online and take classes and still be able to get my tasks done. The laptop is mobile and therefore I can go anywhere and still be able to get everything done without upsetting my day. With this laptop I can keep my life in order and running smooth. I find it easier to get my kids to study without having to drag them out to the library where they have to wait up to thirty minutes just to get on a computer. This product is great.

Dell inspiron 1526 has bad keyboard and wont charge properly.

I am lucky that this computer was a gift to me and that I didn't have to pay for it myself. I am quite disappointed with it's quality. I have always heard from my friends "don't buy a Dell" but am usually an optimist. But I should have listened to them. This computer is very slow, and seems to take forever to load. No, I don't have any viruses or trojans or other maladies. It just runs slow. And on a side not, The computer wont charge anymore. It reads that it is plugged in, and will run as long as it's plugged in, but it absolutely will not charge anymore. I've even looked online for remedies, and it seems like this is quite common. That's probably the most annoying thing. I can't take my laptop anywhere that there isn't an outlet. All I get is a sign that says "plugged in, not charging" and nothing seems to be helping the problem. So if anyone is looking for a computer that works well, look elsewhere. I won't be recommending this computer for anyone.

The Hinges Stink

2

Let me just state emphatically, I had been an avid Dell fan for years (as far as laptops are concerned), but the last two laptops I've had from them have been fraught with problems.  Next time I'm getting an Apple. The Inspiron 1526 - no, not 1525 - was an experimental model (certainly it wasn't on the market for long). I love the design, love the layout of the speakers with the controls on deck. Very nice. Swapped out Vista for XP, but what are you gonna do? It shipped with Vista. So no qualms at all with those things. It's the bloody hinges, and the cheap plastic connectors that make me want to screm, and frankly, should be recalled. I'm not the only one that's had this issue. Apparently the way they are attached creates a weakness in the plastic cover, and sooner or later they crack from the heat of the fan (which is what mine did, unbeknownst to me). Leave the crack alone and the whole hinge will come undone. I am now looking at 50.00 to replace. Cheaply made, and an absolutely overpriced fix. Would not recommend. At all.

The Dell inspiron 1526 is a good rounded laptop.

The Dell inspiron 1526 is a good rounded laptop that can go anywhere and do just about anything. It is easy to get online, watch movies, look at your pics and lots more. It has the Vista basic and for me, I have had no problems with it. I have not had any of these problems others say they did with Vista. The computer does not way very much and is sturdy. I would recommend this computer to anyone. The only thing I do have to watch out for is the keypad. I found out that if I rest my hands to close to it, it can get crossed signals from the extra weight. But to me it's not that big a deal.

The Dell Inspiron 1526 is the best laptop I've ever owned!

4

The Dell Inspiron 1526 is a great laptop computer to own. It is user friendly. I used to be completely computer illiterate, but with this laptop I can easily change the computer settings to my own settings and navigate through different programs with no difficulty. It is fast when booting up and the battery lives for over an hour when not plugged in. It comes in a variety of colors, which is great for those who want to add some personality to their electronics or just like certain colors. It has four USB slots. It also has two headphone jacks as well as a jack for a microphone, even though there is one built in already. It has a Home Media button for those who just want to watch a movie or listen to music. It saves some of the battery life if you use this option instead of going to regular windows. If the computer gets a little too hot though, the finger pad for the mouse gets a little touchy.
