We have had these scissors/shears for several years, and they still work like a champ. These are heavy duty scissors with a thick blade. They are not well-suited for fine cutting or paper cutting, as the ridges on the blade show up in the paper cuts. So I would not use these for craft scissors. But for kitchen scissors, they are awesome. I have cut through thick cardboard without a problem. I have cut through several layers of paper to make scratch notes - not a problem. So easy. It does not take a lot of muscle to cut very thick items, and your hands don't hurt too much after doing so, reflecting in the quality of the design of these shears. We also grab them for cutting open food packages and those awful plastic blister packs that seem to cover everything these days. These shears crunch right through blister packs. The only drawback is it is a little annoying how easy the blades come apart. They have a slot for separating the blades, and often they pop apart when I pick them up. No problem while actually cutting, but when moving them around.

This is the one and only pair of shears you'll ever need. I love my pair! I'be used a lot of different poultry/kitchen shears. None have this patented design. They stay sharp! And if they were to somehow get damaged, they have a lifetime garrantee! Yes I said lifetime. And that's the life of the shears, not the owner. These sheers will actually cut copper they are so strong. And still stay sharp! I recommend these to anyone that loves to be in the kitchen! Comfort Left or right handed. My husband's mother had an entire huge set of Cutco knives that she raved about all of the time. I had the opportunity to use her collection a lot, especially as we had to house sit for extended periods of time. One of the items that my husband would rave about constantly as we used them were the Cutco Super Shears. They are fantastic shears that cut through pretty much anything you would want them for in the kitchen. They are expensive for sure, but they are worth it in the long run rather than buying kitchen shears over and over like I have done, only to end up with frustration and lack of performance, if any at all! Comfort These kitchen shears are very easy to use, comfortable, and don't need strength of mammoth proportions to operate them. I found the handles to be comfortable and the angles of the shears to be well designed. Performance We used these shears for all kinds of things from cutting up meat to chicken, to even cutting focaccia bread, which is thicker than the pizza we also used them to cut. They were easy to use and stayed sharp a long period of time. Durability These shears are very durable. I used them for quite a few years and they performed beautifully without a hitch. I have had a few sets of kitchen shears and have been disappointed in all of them. Cutco shears are the only ones I have used for extended periods of time that didn't make me want to throw them out the window! Design Great design, and VERY easy to clean, these shears are the nicest I have used yet. I feel that they are well designed out of durable materials too.

About 10 years agao my oldest brother bought me several pairs of scissors, all from Cutco. But my favorite pair by far are the SuperShears/Kitchen Shears. I use them almost every day and have been thrilled with them. I love how easy it is to grip them. Them handles are big enough to really get a good grip and not so big that they feel clumsy in your hand. They also cut about everything, and I do mean everything. I have cut packages, cardboard, metal meat, ptotatoes, vegetables, flower stems, chicken bones and more. Never once have they let me down or have I had them even come close to breaking. Sometimes I amaze myself with how well they cut things and with such ease. They also clean up like a breeze too. They are so easy to take apart and clean, and then get back together. I never have to worry about anything building up on them or gunking them up. I know when you first see the price you may be in a little sticker shock, but when you start to use them and then use them over and over again, never havoing a problem with them and the shears working as good each time as the first time, the price will seem very reasoanble! Comfort So easy to hold and keep a good grip with, even when your hands get messy and slippery. Performance Consistent and really can cut pretty much anything! I love these scissors! I probably would not have bought them because of the price, but one of my students was selling them and I felt obligated to buy something. I ended up with these and a knife. I found the scissors to be indispensible and I was able to use them for tasks I could never use regular scissors for. I made a spatchcocked turkey and used the scissors to cut up either side of the backbone. I never would have done that with regular scissors because regular ones gather germs in the joint. These, however, come apart so there are no areas that are inaccessible for cleaning. They can go through the dishwasher or be hand cleaned. I use them for all kinds of tasks around the house and in the vegetable garden and they've never let me down.

I've had two pairs of Cutco's Super Shears for 4 years and they have earned every penny I paid for them. The Super Shears are great for in the kitchen for cutting pizza, bunches of broccoli, deboning chicken, and cutting up bundles of herbs. I also really like to use them for opening bags; the shears come apart so it makes opening packages and boxes so much more simple. They also fit nicely in both the right and the left hand; since my boyfriend is a lefty and I'm a righty using super shears works for both of us. The Super Shears are also very easy to clean, they come apart like I mentioned earlier and they are dishwasher safe so they just get tossed in with everything else. They are nice for outdoors as well, whether it be for trimming back smaller branches, pruning flowers, cutting trough thinner metals or thick pieces of tarp my super shears take care of it all. What I love about my super shears is that they not only work but they're covered by Cutco's Forever Guarantee so if I ever need a new pair because these go dull they'll send me a new one for free : )

When I got married ten years ago, my mother-in-law hosted a Cutco knife party in our honor.  I had never heard of Cutco before and was skeptical to try it.  I'm a foodie, and I had never even heard of the brand.  But, she gave us all the knives she earned, so I couldn't resist.  One of the things we received was the Cutco kitchen shears.  I have to admit, I love this tool.  It is sturdy and well-made.  The handles are thick and easy to grip.  The blades separate for easy cleaning, plus, if little hands get a hold of them, they fall apart before the child can do much damage.  This has become an important saftey feature in our house now that we have five little ones!  I use these shears almost every day, and hunt around for them when they're in the dishwasher being washed.  I used them to cut herbs, open packages, snip bacon...you name it.  One of the things I like about the brand is that Cutco offers a lifetime gaurantee on all their products.  You can send these in to have them sharpened any time you need to.  I have taken advantage of this with my other knives, but not with this product.  I don't want to be without them long enough to send them in!
