Triaminic Children's thin strips work great and are easy to give

5

I love the Triaminic children's thin strips! I have been using triamic cold products for my chilren for 22 years so I know I can trust them. The thin strips are my favorite form for children. There is no accidently spilling them and then wondering how much they got in their mouth and how much is spilled all over. They are mess free to keep in your purse to give when they need them and not have to worry about having a medicne dosing devise or getting sticky stuff all over your hands or their face or outfit like with liquids. I found them very nice when my kids would go through that toddler phase of wanting to spit medicine out since the strips have a taste kids like and they stick to their toungue so smaller kids who are still in the spit them out phase don't have the cordination to get them out of their mouth before it melts. I just give them a drink right away to wash it down when they are in that phase. I can usually get away with giving my 3 year old 1 in the morning and other in the evening and that usually keeps his cold symptoms under control for the whole day. Occationally he will need another in the afternoon if the cold is really bad. I use them for my 8 year old too.

Thin Strips make giving toddler meds easy

My 3.5 yr old loves the idea of something melting on his tongue. Our Ped recommended these when our son was battling a cold with a cough related to post nasal drip. I liked the idea of being able to carry a few in my purse, since they are individually packaged. I also liked the idea of the dosage being regulated. My son was eager to try them and we watched to make sure it dissolved quickly, which it did. I was worried he would try to take it out or play with it, and they we wouldn't know how much he had taken. But it melts fast. It is more expensive for how much you get, compared with a regular bottle. But perfect to have just in case in diaper bag. It worked well on his cough and didn't appear to make him drowsy. My only other downfall was one time he started coughing while it was melting and I think he spit some of it out. However that could also easily happen with the liquid one as well. We will definitely purchase these again.

Triaminic Thin Strips are good to have!

Triaminic Children's Thin Strip's are a great simple remedy to have for a child who dislikes syrup medication like mine. My son absolutely will not take cough syrup to help with his cold and cough. So I began using these strips a while back and they have definately helped. They help with the cough within about 10-15 minutes and the decongestion and runny nose (depending which I get). I also get the Triaminic Thin Strips for Night and those help as well with the sleepless nights. I always make sure I have my Thin Strips in the medicine cabinet and one in my purse when the cold weather rolls around. They are simple as well, I just give a strip to my son and he places it on his tongue and it quickly dissolves right then and there. The taste must not be bad because I never hear him complain when its time for him to take his Triaminic Thin Strip. I am very happy with this product and glad they have something so simple to help with the kids and their colds.

Great Idea--but ineffective

I first tried the Triaminic thin strips with my first daughter four years ago. I loved the idea of not having to force her to take medicine she didn't like, and also loved that these were not messy at all. I used these when she was about one to two years old and found them to be totally useless. I was hoping they would clear up her congestion when she had a cold, but they did not. I was hoping they would help her sleep better when she had a cough, but again, they had no affect on her symptoms. I then asked our pediatritian who told me that companies cannot put real ingredients into childrens medicine for children under the age of four or five, (for colds). My daugher is now 5 and I have since tried these again with the same result. I have found that it is better to let a common cold run it's course than to use medicine that does not help her symptoms. I have tried these when my daughter has been coughing quite a bit as well and have found them to not help nearly as much as other brands of cough medicine.

Thank goodness for Triaminic Thin Strips

I have two small daughters that fight off every attempt to give them medicine. I was happy to have come across such a great product. The thin strips are easy to get the girls to take. This particular way of giving them medicine makes them want to take it. I love how it comes in different flavors. The medicine works well and fast. I have only had to give my girls a couple doses each for their cough and runny nose issues to go away. The thin strip simply melts on the tongue. I also like the nighttime Triaminic Thin Strips. The girls took that kind when they were sick a couple weeks ago, and it not only made the sickness go away, but also helped them get a good night's rest. I would recommend this product to anyone with children, but especially to parents with smaller children that hate taking medicine. This is easy to use, and leaves no mess to clean up. I gave my two year old only half of the thin strip, due to not being able to give her an accurate "dose".

Triaminic Thin Strips Are Good - Not Great

If your child is anything like mine, they do not like taking their medicine! My four year old has a real problem with liquid medications and it is very difficult to get him to take anything when he really needs it. The Triaminic Thin Strips are actually a small square that is supposed to dissolve on the tongue, but instead the child does need to suck on it a little to completely dissolve it. The wild berry taste is a hit; it is the same taste as the liquid Triaminic, but just in a different form. The things I like about this medications are the taste and the easy dosing format. However, I also have a small problem with the whole "dissolve on the tongue" thing. Sometimes when my son takes it, it sticks to the roof of his mouth and doesn't dissolve for a while. This worries me a little, because what if he gets sick of it and decides to spit it out. The other slight problem is the cost  - it is a little pricey. Overall - a good medicine, but could use a little work.
