This is an all round great feeder. Not only does it close with the weight of a squirrel but all of my smaller birds use it. It's super easy to fill and you can see clearly how much seed there is. End of year cleaning requires taking it all apart (easy) and soaking parts. You will need a small brush to get the last little bits of gunk out. Re-assembling is easy and all-in-all there's little maintenance . I'm thinking about getting a second one.

We are big time bird watchers and love to put out bird feeders and watch all the different types of birds that come to feed. Squirrels are cute too but with the old feeders they would eat up your seeds in no time and you'd go broke before they got their fill and, of course, they'd deter the birds from feeding. We've tried many feeder over the years, some even claiming to be squirrel proof, but none has come close to working as wall as our new Brome 1024 Squirrel Buster Plus Bird Feeder. About the best that the squirrels can do with this one is to shake a few of the seeds to the ground and then they must go all the way back down to retrieve them. They eventually just give up and content themselves with occasionally policing the ground beneath it. The other great thing about this feeder is that it deters larger biirds that will also quickly deplete your seeds. So what we usually get now is the smaller more colorful birds and our seeds last much longer. As a bonus, it's entertaining watching the squirrels TRY to figure out how to get to the seeds. They are quite ingeious little critters, but this feeder hjas them beat. In my opinion, this is the best bird feeder if you also have squirrels. Also easy to set up and clean. Happy bird watching!

This is a very "heavy duty" bird feeder. The dial setting for the weight of birds is easy to change. My feeder arrived with a little bit of weight tension, but I had to dial it back a bit to accomodate cardinals as well as finches and some woodpeckers. Not only are the squirrels coming up "empty handed", but so are the black starlings...AWESOME!

well what can i say, finally a product that is helpful for our wonderful birds. i have on many occassion put many a bird feeder out to feed the birds and much to my dismay the squirrels had helped their selves to the seed. i dont mind feeding the squirrels but since i am an avid bird lover it disheartened me to watch the birds sitting on the roof of the garage watching the squirrels eating their food that was put there for them. this product is wonderful. the birds can now eat in peace and i might have to add it was quite funny at first to watch the hard headed squirrels try to get the food out of this feeder. i had to watch from my window and chuckle a little bit. after trying many other brands that claim they are squirrell busters and were not i must say this product is definately a winner and i would definately recommend it to anyone who is a bird person and loves to watch the beautiful array of birds that feeders attract. definately a winner in my book./

I love my Brome 1024 Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Perch Ring! I love to watch my feathered friends feed from my Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Perch Ring! It does keep the Squirrels from getting a hold of my wild bird seed. I do recommend that you have a bird feeder stand over just hanging it on a tree. When I had mine on a tree I did have a problem with a raccoon. The raccoon did damage a few parts on the Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Perch Ring; I just contacted Brome and they sent me the replacement parts for the Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Ring at no charge. The company was very helpful in helping me figure out what parts I needed; they emailed me with a parts diagram listing. The parts were shipped quickly to me and at no charge. I forgot one part that I needed and had to email them again. The additional part was also send out quickly to me at no charge. Replacement parts were easy to install and put the Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Perch Ring back together. I highly recommend this Squirrel Buster Plus Wild Bird Feeder with Cardinal Perch Ring!

Keeping squirrels from making a mess of bird seed and feeders is difficult. This feed looks like it is metal, which would be harder for squirrels to destroy by knawing on it, which they do on weed feeders. There appears to be a ring around the bottom for birds to use as a perch. I can't tell from the photo, but I'm guessing the ring pulls down when the weight of a squirrel gets on it and the weight of a bird isn't sufficient to bring the ring down. Good idea, The problem I see is that squirrels jumping on the feeder will shake it enough to spill seed if they don't hit the ring soon enough. After awhile, squirrels will figure out that they can come down from the top and get seed while holding themselves upside down and not touch the ring that shuts off access to the seed portals. I hate squirrels, anything that keeps them out of my feeders is worth a try.

I LOVE this Wild bird feeder...It keeps all those critters in the rat family out of your wild birds food...If installed right, it saves time wen refilling it with your favorite wild bird food...I have one forthe backyard and the front for easy view of different species of wild birds comming and going...I also, bought one for Grandpa so he can sit out on his porch and wild bird watch all day long if he wants to...Wild birds bring peace and harmony to your life I would recommend getting your own wild bird feeder so you too can have the enjoyments of seeing differentcharacters behaviors. This wild bird feeder is has quality clear platic for easy view of when it's time for refilling, it easily attracts wild birds from a far, a slim designe and most of all it keeps critters out of it..!

I love watching wild birds and butterflies in my yard as well as the squirrels and other animals that frequent it. This bird feeder is quite pretty but practical, as it allows the birds to eat but seems to keep the squirrels on the ground where they belong. It is built of strong plastic to withstand the wind and snows we have in winters here in Virginia. I like being able to see how much food is still out there for them through the clear plastic holder and the whole feeder seems to hold up to weather, wind and cold nicely. We had no trouble installing this feeder but we have other feeders so we are experienced in that and filling it is rather easy too. Just make sure its not hanging too high. It has a rather large holding area and although the birds stay busy eating from it doesn't need to be filled as often as some others I have purchased. Although it was a little expensive I like to think of it as one of my 'little luxuries" to make winter nicer. Highly recomended to my friends.

I have used this bird feeder in my back yard and absolutely loved it. It's easy to clean and to fill. The birds that it attracts is phenomenal. I've had many cardinals, of course, but also Blue Jays, a variety of finches, and even a pair of woodpeckers. I've had other feeders in the past that have been destroyed by squirrels. It can get expensive to replace them after a while. But, this one is squirrel resistant and holds up to the constant bird traffic that it receives. I would highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys inviting wild birds to their yards. I even bought one for my mom who was also having a problem with squirrels constantly breaking every new feeder she put up.

great product, looks nice and serves the purpose, i love to watch the birds come and feed..but it was becoming a problem when all the food was being eaten by the squirrels, this brome product discourages that problem. it is easy to use and easy to fill. then you just sit back and enjoy mother nature at its best...for the price this product is actually very well made..I have purchased similar items in the past and they have not been made well, did not last and by the end of a season had to be thrown out. It has a large capacity for the feed as well, which is nice since you dont have to fill it as often. I know squirrels need food too but this product is just made for the birds. I havent seen any squirels in my new buster plus since i purchased it.And the bonus is the cardinal perch ring, to see a cardinal up close and personal is just breath taking. Birds are beautiful creatures and this brome wild bird feeder is perfect for helping to let enjoy them each and every day!
