We mainly use our big outdoor lighter for grilling and camping. It's easy to use and very durable. I honestly can not think of any negatives to this product and the many uses it can be used for.

The outdoor lighter has an extended tip to where you can light the fire without your hand being close enough to get burned. This lighter is also good to use with candles when the wic gets to short. Instead of burning your fingers the lighter lights it for you.

The Bic Outdoor Lighter makes a huge difference in my life. Without the lighter I simply would have a terrible time lighting my candles that I have all around my back yard. The Bic lighter is compact, sturdy and attractive. It gives me a sense of blessing when I hold my Bic Lighter. The mechanism allows me to click the flame on and off, and do it as receptively as I wish. And unlike a regular match, I dont have to use a new one all the time.

I have a little hobby business, and I use lighters to seal the edges on some of the items I use.  A small lighter just burns my fingers, so I use these.  Recently, I went and purchased a bunch of cheap generic ones, thinking they would be as good as the Bic variety.  One of them didn't work at all, and all of the other ones  take multiple flicks to light, which gets annoying when you have to light it multiple times in a short period of time.  The Bic lighters almost always light with the first flick, and I like the "child proof" part much better than on the generic lighters.  There are lots of varieties (flexible neck, windproof) so you can choose the variety that works best for your application.  I tend to buy whatever is on sale.

We use this lighter both inside and outside. The length of it makes me feel a lot safer in using it- especially for lighting our charcoal grill. Inside, sometimes it's just easier to have the longer handle on a lighter. We've never had any problems with it at all. The safety features on it are nice, as well. I feel that if you have children, this is something that should be considered in a lighter. For us, even though it is stored out of reach of the little ones, it's still nice to know that the safety features on it would make it really difficult for them to use. Other than that, there aren't many bells and whistles, it's just your basic utility lighter. It seems to last a long time- I think we've had this over a year, so it's a good buy for it's price. One thing I'm wondering about is how to dispose of it- it would be helpful is Bic included some information about that on the outside of the package.

   These lighters are great.  Not only are they child proof, but you can use them indoors and out.  They work indoors for fireplaces, tealights, candles, and incense.   outdoors, I always take one camping for the campfire and grills.  The design is also cool because you can hang them up out of reach from children.  The only problem I have come across is that they don't always light the first time.  And I love purple so the color would have been a bonus.

I love fire.  In the fireplace, candles, in the outdoor fireplace.  Something about fire and the warmth and ambiance it provides just really makes me happy.  I make fires in the indoor fireplace nearly every night in the winter and I've got tons of candles all over my house so there are always lots of things that need lighting. Matches are OK but I prefer the long lighters used for candles and fires.  I generally buy the first ones I find in the store so I rarely but the same model twice but I will be sure to never buy Bic Outdoor Lighters again. I got my Bic Outdoor Lighter earlier this summer as I burned out all my old ones and desperately needed a new one to light candles and especially for my charcoal grill.  We use our gas grill a lot but for some reason we got into charcoal grilling a lot this summer.  So one day when I was in the hardware store buying charcoal I also grabbed a Bic Outdoor Lighter from the impulse item section.  Bad decision. I should have picked something else. I liked that it was an attractive sage green color and that it has a handy, retractable hook for hanging on a hook on the side of the grill but this lighter is so difficult to light that I gave up on it and bought a different one. The childproof feature on this lighter is the first issue.  You have to hold it down very firmly with your thumb while pushing down on the trigger with your index finger.  If you're not pushing hard enough (and you have to push HARD) on the thumb button the trigger cannot be pressed.  So because I have hand strength issues I usually struggle to use this lighter one handed and then after two tries I have to actually use two hands.  Not only that, it never lights on the first push of the trigger.  I always have to press the trigger at least twice and sometimes by the time I get it lit and to the candle or grill the flame blows out and I've got to go thru all that again.  This lighter is a total pain.  I understand that the childproof feature is there for a reason but it makes this lighter difficult to use for people with hand strength issues or small hands.  I'll never buy this one again.
