I have been searching for the perfect purple/mauve eyeshadow set for a long time now.  I keep buying new brands, just to be disappointed again.  Some brands have nice eyeshadow, but bad colors; some brands have horrible eyeshadow and nice colors.  I have tried many, and now even after my latest purchase, I'm *still* looking for a good one. **Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Palette **is a long-wearing eyeshadow that lasts for hours.  They make it in a plethora of color combinations, but I chose **Romantic **because of the gorgeous purple and mauve colors in it.  It includes three colors: a pale pink, a medium mauve and a *very* dark plum color.  All the colors are matte and all of them look like they would go together perfectly from glancing at the compact.  As soon as I got this in the mail, I went to the mirror to test it out.  I liked the pale pink color, it was a nice base for the lid.  I thought the medium mauve color was much paler than it appeared in the compact, it wasn't much more noticeable than the pale pink color.  I detested the dark plum color.  The color contrast between the dark plum color and the other colors was just too great.  They didn't go well with each other at all.  The dark plum color does not belong in this compact.  Besides that, the dark plum color gave my eye the appearance of a bruise.  I don't want to walk around looking like I have a black eye.    On the plus side, I really liked the texture of this eyeshadow.  It was a soft, silky shadow, and wasn't chalky or cheap in any way.  Unfortunately, the color combo was so bad, I'm forced to give this product a 2 star rating.  However, I liked the actual eyeshadow so much, I would buy it again in a different color scheme.
