My cat absolutely loves the Blitz Turbo Scratcher toy. While she takes more interest in the toy when catnip is placed in the center (what cat wouldn't), she still loves to scratch her paws on the cardboard pieces, or even just roll on top of it. She has taken a lot of interest in the ball, and will play for an extended period of time knocking the ball back and forth. It is definitely one of the more interactive cat toys I have found, and it truly is quite inexpensive. Since I have gotten a puppy recently, now both the cat and dog can be found playing with this toy. While my cat knocks the ball around, the dog tries to get the ball "out" of the toy. It's quite amusing and is great exercise for the both of them. I would certainly recommend this toy to cat owners as it combines both an active toy for one's cat to bat around, and it also encourages the cat to scratch on an approved area (the cardboard).

I was very excited when I found the Blitz Turbo Scratcher Cat Toy and thought it was a great toy that my cats would love.  This was reinforced by the fact that so many people (based on reviews) had great success with it.  Unfortunately, they were interested in it only for the first few days and pretty much ignored it since then.

Perhaps it is just because my cats are not 'normal' cats...LOL. I have a F3 Savannah (African Serval hybrid) and F3 Bengal (Asian Leopard cat hybrid), so perhaps their behavior aren't exactly the same as a fully domesticated cat.

We added two ragdoll kittens this year to our family. I had forgotten how much energy kittens have. I needed to find a toy that would entertain them and keep them entertained for longer than a few minutes. I did not have the time to constantly entertain them. I bought this because it seemed like something that may keep them occupied. Was I right with this one. This is another one of the cat toys in my house that all my cats as well as all foster cats have a good time with. It saves my couch, and the cats have so much fun playing with the thing, it's such a simple toy and it ends up being very VERY durable, although the ball pops out on occasion, but you can just pop it back in just as easily. They love to scratch on the board, and make the ball go round and round on the track. It's fun to watch them make the ball run faster around the track, they look like they know what they're doing- and they seem to figure it out pretty fast (within ten minutes of bringing the darn thing home). I've never had a cat, my own and all fosters, reject this toy. There is only one negative about this toy, late at night, when everyone's tucked in and fast asleep, if a kitten decides to play with the toy, you'll hear a constant sound coming from the ball going round the track over and over again.

My cat Julio LOVES this toy!!! He has loved this scratcher since he was a tiny kitten!  It's alot of fun to watch him spin & flip around while he's playing with this toy! Sometimes one of his "brothers" shares in the fun with him! He also loves to scratch on it and lay on it & nap too! And of course he especially loves it when I sprinkle a little catnip on it! I don't know what he'd do without it! It's nice that he can have fun playing with it by himself and it gives him some excercise too! I also like the fact that it can be refilled at a reasonable price. This toy also promotes good mental well-being for the cats as you are allowing them to "mark" thier territory. The only con I can think of is that your cat may love it so much that you'll hear the ball rolling at 3 or 4a.m.! And as would be expected from any cardboard scratcher, there will be occaisional bits of cardboard to clean up. All in all this toy comes highly reccommended by both me and my cats!

Better alternative than declawing

We recently added another kitten to our family and were thinking about getting her declawed like our other two cats but it broke my heart to see the pain they went through with the procedure. Plus, our kitty wasn't quite heavy enough to undergo the procedure so we needed an alternative. The kitten didn't quite know what to do with this at first but once she saw the ball, she went to town. My little Oliver just loves his Blitz Turbo Scratcher. I am a first time cat owner and love every minute of it! I have always been a dog lover and never really even liked cats . . . . until now! I adopted our cat, Oliver, from a local cat rescue when he was about 6 months old and like any New Mom . . . . I went out and bought him all kinds of toys, one of which is the Blitz Turbo Scratcher. My cats love to use the scratcher part--it's their favorite scratching post--and they love to play with the ball.  We have a polydactyl that is an expert and can have the ball going round and round with no break in pace.  Then, of course, you have the cat that starts the ball, then have to turn around to stop it because it doesn't quite grasp the concept.  Either way, they have fun and they are fun to watch!

One of the best toys I have ever bought for my cats.  They love using the 'scratching post' in the center (especially when you bait it with a little catnip), and they have great fun chasing the ball around the track.  I have a multi-cat household, and all of them like this toy. One of the funniest things I ever saw was one of my adult cats 'teaching' a new kitten how to knock the ball around the track - he literally showed the kitten how to do it and kept repeating until the kitten got the hang of it.  That kitten is now all grown up and is the best of the bunch at keeping that ball going around and around and around and.....Only bad thing is having to pick up cardboard scraps once the cats have shredded the center, and the centers can get expensive to replace when you have a multi-cat household and go through as many of them as I do.  Still worth it overall, though.

My cats love the Blitz Turbo Scratcher Cat Toy because it keeps them entertained for hours and hours.  Just add a small bit of catnip into the cardboard slots and watch them go forever!This is probably one of the best investments I have made for my cat to enjoy.  Not only does it keep them from scratching the furniture, but they just love to sit on it when they're not playing.  Talk about possessive.We've tried othe cardboard-type scatchers, but they end up destroying them in a short time or running from they because they end up flipping their weird shape.  The Blitz Turbo Scratcher Cat Toy has an interchangeable cardboard insert that lasts a long time and the circular shape keeps it well on the ground so no "flipping".If you buy any cardboard-type scratching toy for your cat, buy the Blitz Turbo Scratcher Cat Toy for your cat, they'll love you forever (or at least when they're done playing with it!)

Oh my gosh you wouldn't believe how much my cat loves this thing.  He even sleeps on it.  the ball goes around the outside in either direction when he bats at it. the middle of it serves as a cat scratcher.  I have had this thing for about five years now, so it holds up really well.  When I first got it for him I had to show him several times what to do with it, but once he had the idea it's been almost non stop playing with it, even still. I have had one of these for around 4 years now. My cats love it. They slap the ball around over and over. They have even gotten the ball out. I just hear the ball going round and round at warp speed, sometimes all night. Even my oldest cat (12) loves it.

The scratch pad is also the best scratch pad they have ever had. They use it more than any other. I love that the cardboard circle in the middle is replaceable and when it gets too torn up you can just throw another one in.

Sometimes they like catnip in the middle or I put Pounce in the ring.

They will use it with or without the scratchpad in the middle. I have had a hard time finding replacements lately and if I do they are eight or nine dollars each wihich is a little high they way they tear them up so quickly. That is the only drawback.

I have spent much more on toys and scratchers my cats haven't liked as well. Hopefully Wal Mart will start carrying them again.

I like buying and well yes pampering my cats with toys, but when it is also functional well that is just an added plus. This is a cool cat toy, and well yes a scratcher. My cats loves to scratch the sofas, which is pretty annoying and ruins the sofas! which are a nice leather! they have already made tears! such a disgrace! So I purchased cat scratchers for them. This Blitz Turbo Scratcher cat toy is pretty rad, and helpful to curb the sofa scratching. It is a pretty cool idea in having two items in one. I love that it is also a toy, it has a ball that is light wieight and they can spin around. It provides endless entertainment. They have not yet tired of playing with it. On the inside is a round scratcher. It is one of those cardboard scratchers. My cats have gone through previous cat scratchers pretty quickly. The inside scratcher can be replaced once it is used up which is convenient. Totally worth it for saving your sofas.

I got this a few years ago because I have a very small house so not much room for the cats to run and play. My male cat wasn't impressed but the female loves it.

She uses it daily to scratch on and often plays with the ball. It doesn't take up much space but offers plenty of activity.

My male cat finally started using it to scratch but still isn't impressed with the ball, he's hard to excite.

The bits of cardboard that come out after a while of scratching are annoying but the one cat loves it so much I put up with it.

It's handy that the pad can be turned over to extend the usage but the replacements are pretty pricey.

The female cat has recently started playing more often with the ball and she and my husband often make a game of it together.I really enjoy seeing her use it and having fun.
