When possible, I prefer to buy things that are made in America. This website has been a great resource for finding clothes that fit this category. The prices are comparable enough to foreign-made products that it makes it worth coming back and shopping at this store more. Ease of Use The site is very easy to navigate, and the search results page shows a picture of the product as well as the title, so you do not need to click on each product to see what it actually looks like. This makes shopping much faster and more convenient. Product Selection I was pleasantly surprised at the wide variety of products available, particularly in hats (both baseball and beanies) as well as shirts (which are the main categories I was looking for). Product Pricing For being American made, the prices on many products were much lower than I expected. They compared pretty well to Walmart or other stores that sell foreign-made products that typically do not cost as much to make.

Americanapparel.com isn't normally a place I shop, but from time time to I can find some basic items to layer with my existing wardrobe. Visually the site is very vanilla, but it functions without any hiccups. The layout gives off the vibe of an art gallery with hipsters being the main focal point. When browsing the site I generally search for solid colored t-shirts and basic colored jeans. I have been able to pick up multi-packs of plain t-shirts for a decent price when I used a promo code. I was also able to score a nice pair of black jeans for $30 shipped. Rather my order qualified for free shipping or paying the flat rate shipping fee of $5 my items have always arrived on its expected delivery date. I would shop on this site more often, but without promo codes the prices are too high for the quality of clothing they sell. The quality isn't bad, but paying $45 for a plain white generic brand t-shirt just isn't practical for me.

I love American Apparel for their customer service alone. But not only they all of their items are extremely well made in the USA. The only downside is, is that I don't have an American Apparel store near me so I only use the AA website. I recently ordered a few pairs of different pants and shorts from American Apparel. I recently got the Faux Cuir Leather Jean, the Bull Stretch High Waist Shorts, and the Bull Stretch High Waist Side Zip Jean. I needed help with sizing because I am often in between a waist size 26/27, and the American Apparel Employee on the online chat was very helpful in helping me pick the right size. She was very knowledgeable, and when my pants/shorts arrived they fit perfectly. When I ordered these items I also used a discount code. The great thing about American Apparel online is that they are always having discount codes every month. I had a 30% discount code, so I was able to get those faux leather pants that were originally $100 for only $60. Those other stretch denim pants were originally almost $80 and I got them for only $35. The Shorts were originally around $50 and I got them for only $40. When I received my items I was so please. They all fit perfectly, and they were such good quality. American Apparel has the best quality basics I have ever seen. The great thing about the American Apparel website is that they have an e-chat, so you can chat with employees about items like it's an AIM chat. Which is great because you don't have for wait for days to get an email back. It's crazy how many great discount codes they offer on their website. All you have to do is sign up to receive their emails. I will remain a loyal AA customer. Ease of Use The website is easy to use, and easy to navigate. They have a huge selection of basic mens, womens, unisex, and children's clothing. They have had the same website layout for years it seems, but it's simple and nice. Product Selection They are always getting new styles of items in with different patterns. But even if you want an older styled American Apparel item they still have them. That's the great thing about American Apparel. They come out with new things but don't replace the old. So if you find a pair of jeans that you love and then they break, you can buy the same pair years later. Product Pricing It's expensive, but they are made in the united states, and are nice to their employees. So all in all spending the extra money on a great quality item is worth it. Some of their items can be really cheap from $2-to over $100 even close to $200. But like they say you get what you pay for, and everything is well made. Customer Service They have the best customer service I have experience online. They have an E chat so you can chat to the employees if you need sizing help. I always use the e chat because you get a response right away. They have different employees that know everything about pants, and then ones who know everything about the tops, etc. The people in the customer service department are very knowledgeable in the items they sell, and the sizing of those items. Shipping and Returns Shipping takes a week from California to Pennsylvania. I'm sure if you live closer to LA the shipping will be faster. Returns do take awhile. I have had to wait a week or so for the item to get back to the warehouse, and then another few days to process. But they do give a full refund, so there is nothing to complain about there.

Overall I am a big fan of americanapparel.com. The store itself has a very unique style which I love to incorporate into my looks. I love shopping online so I usually browse AmericanApparel.com often. The only down side to using their site is that their sizing is different then most other popular retail stores. I would highly recommend going to a retail store in person to try on clothing first before ever ordering online. This way you will know your typical sizing for the store and will be less likely to return clothing for not fitting. Ease of Use Overall the website is very easy to use and is categorized nicely so you can find what you are looking for. Product Selection I love the product selection at AmericanApparel.com. They have everything you can find in store but in all the available sizes. Product Pricing Prices at American Apparel are a little expensive. Their clothing is very unique though so you will not be able to find similar items other places. Customer Service I have never had to use customer service at americanapparel.com. Shipping and Returns Shipping and Returns are quick and easy.

What I love about American Apparel is their consistency. Their advertising is a bit controversial at times and I can see it turning some people off but if you can look past that then you will find some great basic pieces here. Their clothing is a bit pricey considering the fact that it is basic, however it is always consistent. I can go online and order anything I want because I know exactly what size to get and I know it will fit. You can't do this at many other retailers. One of the biggest appeals for me though is the fact that the clothing is basic. It's kind of like having a blank slate to build off of. I have brought in some basic solid tees to my local printing shop to get custom graphics printed on it. Since I know the quality of the t-shirt they are printing on, I am confident in knowing that it will fit and look great. I also love doing some of my own at-home graphics on them. You can often find great kits at craft stores to do basic fabric projects with. This is actually great for all ages, especially because they do sell children's size clothing as well.

American Apparel is way overpriced for the clothing that they offer. While it has a great selection of basic clothing that people can wear without any fancy designs, they have huge markups. I don't understand how or why people pay so much for a plain sweater just because it is from american apparel. They used to be appealing in that their clothes are not made in sweat shops. But i think that idea has worn off and now american apparel is associated with hipsters. The clothing and accessories on their website look weird. They have very weird accessories. The last time I bought something from them was when they had a coupon for $5 off anything on the site. I was able to buy very cheap lip balms and nail polish. Anything else was not worth buying. If I wanted basic looking clothing, I can buy them almost anywhere else for a fraction of the price, especially walmart or target. They look basically the same.

I ordered the "Fleece zip up hoodie" from this website. The website had a great layout and many clothes to choose from. They have about as much clothes for men as they do women. It seems like they mark down items often which is great. I'm on a budget and this helps me get high quality clothes for good prices. There clothes come in quite a few different colors which I like. I'm not the kind of person who just wears black or whites clothes all the time. I wish they had a logo on the clothes they sell. The majority of their clothes come logo free with minimal design. My fleece hoodie that I ordered did not qualify for free shipping, but I paid a reasonable amount to ship it to my house. It arrived quick and I was pleased with my order. They gave a tracking number and I was able to track when my item would be delivered. I'm enjoying my fleece hoodie very much. It's warm enough and stays in good condition after multiple washes. I would definitely recommend American Apparel as a good place to buy clothes. It's a near perfect website and sells good clothes.

I really like American Apparel and really can see the quality difference that they have. I've placed an order when there was a 20% off sale coupled with free shipping for a basic medium maroon t-shirt. The shipping was fast and I couldn't more happy with this shirt. It's a well fitted shirt that's a great slim fit and really showcases the body. The shirt, which I have for several years now is very soft and hasn't faded in any other as well. In fact, it has gotten better with age. Very nice quality shirt. The color was representative of the website photos, and I didn't require any customer service support all. The shipping was within the expected time frame, the websites were easy to navigate and I was able to see clearly what the slim fit meant based on the model photos. I will definitely reorder once again when I lose more weight! For reference, only shop when there are discounts as regular price is quite expensive.

If you love overpaying by three-hundred percent for every plain white tee or pair of socks you own this website is definitely the place for you to shop. YOu can buy a super trendy pair of shiny teal leggings for the very prestigious price of forty two dollars plus shipping and handling! I'm forced to assume that like Hollister or Abercrombie and Fitch, owning clothes from American Apparel must boost your ever important status because there is absolutely no reason to be paying so much for a shoddy plain shirt except for bragging rights about where you got it and how much money you have to blow on completely overrated and useless things. A good portion of their cloths are just plain unattractive. Maybe I don't understand how fashion works but I can't imagine anyone seeing a neon green oversized rain coat and thinking "Oh my god! I must own that!" The fashions that seem reasonably priced aren't wearable and the items that look like actual clothes are grossly inflated in price. I'll pass, thanks.

I ordered the unisex winter jacket on October 8th. Today is November 25th and I still have NOT received this jacket. It has been nearly two months now. Let me describe how BEYOND TERRIBLE their service is: First, they lost my shipment. It wasn't until I followed up a week and a half later that I found out and that is when they ordered a replacement shipment. Otherwise I would have never received my shipment. When I finally did receive my shipment a month later, it was the wrong item. I had to ship the item back to their factory (you cannot take online orders to return in stores). I have called to find out what the status of my order is and it is still "processing in returns." I have not been refunded my money, nor have they sent out the replacement yet, even though they received the jacket I mailed back two weeks ago now. Nearly TWO MONTHS LATER AND I AM STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE MY JACKET. DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE, BAD POLICIES, UNORGANIZED PROCESSING INFORMATION, ETC. I will NEVER order from American Apparel again and DO NOT recommend other to order from them.
