acer laptop

Great laptop, easy and wasn't too pricey. Ease of Use I use this laptop for the sims and internet and school. Its quite easy to navigate set up and I use the search option on the start menu and that has given me all the information i have needed. Even my mom can use this laptop and she finds laptops difficult. Battery Life Obviously the length of battery life depends on what you are doing. When I am doing school work with no internet connection (and wifi turned off,) I can get about 3 hours before i start to think maybe i should plug this in soon. Support & Service I haven't had to call for support or service before. Speed/Performance Without updating, this computer does tend to slow down and once or twice I have seen it freeze. But with regular update, restarting helps if you have automatic updates set, the computer does well. Design This laptop has a basic design. My previous laptop had the swivel screen and I really miss it in this computer. I do like the desktop background choices it came with and that i can choose to do a slideshow with multiple of those pictures. Durability I am accident prone. I drop this laptop all the time. I did break a piece off where the rotating parts are to open and close the laptop, but it hasn't affected it at all.

I love Acer Aspire laptop.  This is a wonderful computer, you get quality, but not an expensive price. That along is very good.  I have had this computer for about a year now and I still love it, It is easy to carry with me where ever I go and their customer service is wonderful, whenever there's a problem they will help to solve it and they usually solve it.  Thanks Acer for a wonderful product.

I have seen better but it works!

The acer aspire laptops are okay but i have seen a better laptop. i actually have one myself. i will tell you the things that go wrong with mine. i have had it for a little over a year. it does not stay charged for longer than 20 minutes and it also gets super hot and shuts off in a short period of time. i am not really complaining because i am actually really lucky to even have a computer let alone a laptop. It runs fine for me though and the connections are great. Everything works. the things that do not run write are probably something i have done so i am not to worried about it being to technical. it is bluetooth capable and it holds a lot of memory. it is great for gaming. It has a micro sd memory card slot, and two usb ports. It plays CDs and it also plays DVDs. You can also burn CDs on the acer aspire laptops. I am not sure that i recommend this  brand of laptops. If you can afford better i would definitely probably go with that.

I bought this computer as a step down from my last laptop. I had a dual core HP that went south due to a bad nvidia chip. This one looked great for what I use a laptop for (web browsing, email, office productivity). It does ok with web video but stutters on HD youtube video. Standard definition youtube plays fine. I had researched this purchase. I came to the conclusion I wanted more than a netbook but didn't need the 17" desktop replacement notebook I had used in the past. I feel this was the perfect choice. The battery life is 8 hours minimum with low screen brightness and web surfing. Under heavier use and brighter screen you are looking at 5-6 hours minimum. The major drawback to this system is that it needs immediate technical attention from the start. You need to upgrade the LAN, Video driver, and BIOS from the Acer website immediately. Your system will slowly develop 100 percent cpu usage when idle if you don't. All is fine after the update. The other major negative is all the pre-installed software. I spent quite a bit of time getting rid of all this junk. Bottom line: Buy if you are a light computer processing user that needs a long battery. You shouldn't be scared off by updating drivers. Avoid it: You are game player. Power user (video encoding, photoshop). Scared to death of updating a driver and BIOS.
