I had to replace my old worn out Toshiba laptop so I decide to get an Acer Netbook because it was so much cheaper than another laptop. Though I miss having a CD drive, for the most part the Acer does what I need. The small screen can be a pain sometimes but it has not cause me a promblem with getting anything I need to get done completed. I enjoy the Windows 7 and the office 2010. Luckily I already had a flash drive so I can carry files to the office instead of having to email everything. Not really missing that CD drive anymore. Why bother with CDs when you can get a USB flash drive and preserve & transfer your files. Super easy to use and has this wonderful reset function that if you get a bunch of viruses or something you can set it back to the factory defaults as if you had never even used it. Sure anything you put on the hrad drive is gone and it takes about 2 hours to complete but it easy to do and you do not have to pay for a repair man. Pretty works just like my old laptop just a smaller screen and no CD burner but like I said with flash drives who wants to waste their money on CDs.

I bought this computer because it was the cheapest one they had at the store I was at and thought it would be ok. A computer is just a computer, right? I was only going to check emails and do a little writing on it. Well, I was mistaken.

The keyboard is too small. I am a fairly accurate typist (keyboarder?) and I have small hands, so I thought this would not be an issue. It was. My son could not use this at all with his large man hands. Though my little friends (ages 7 and 9) had no issue. Their hands are half again smaller than mine.

Battery life is about the same as any other cheap computer. About 3 to 5 hours depending on what you are using it for.

Because of the memory, if you are streaming a movie expect a lot (and I do mean a lot) of buffering.

Support and service since nothing went wrong with in the three months I owned it but have dealt with Acer before and they have always been great I give them 5 stars.

Speed and performance as I stated above - it is slow. It has a small memory. It is ok for doing term papers (if your hands fit) or emails but really no movie watching or anything like YouTube.

Design. Again the keyboard. Too small. Though it is light and easy to carry around.

I didn't hate this computer but had a couple of issues. Namely keyboard and the buffering issue. I just needed something with more memory, something a little bigger and more powerful.

I love this computer!

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

I can not believe this product is discontinued! I love Acer and especially the Aspire models. They are easy to use and easy to travel with, they are light and durable. I just love my Acer Aspire One.

Ease of Use
The Acer Aspire One is so easy to use and easy to setup. Mine took minutes to start up when I got it. Its so easy to install needed programs. Changing settings is easy. Everything is easy with this little computer.

Battery Life
Admittedly the battery life is not great, maybe 2 hours at most. I always keep the charger nearby.

Support & Service
I have not had any problems with support and service. I haven't really had to use any service because the computer is so great. The computer itself has help and support information that is all the help anyone would need.

Speed/Performance
I love it. Mine runs so well and so smoothly. I have not had any issues with speed or performance.

Durability
These little computers are super durable. Having one while in college is good because I have dropped it a couple times and no damage to it.

A great little computer that's reliable

By

from Port Orchard, WA

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

Small and reliable. Great for small spaces like a college students desk in class. It's very light and portable and comes in great colors. It is super fast. The only downside is there is no disk drive but you can still connect usb's to save things.

Acer Aspire One Lives Up to Expectations

By

from Berryville, VA

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

I have had my Acer Aspire One netbook for over two years now.  When I bought it, I read negative reviews about the system crashing a lot, but I have never had a problem.  The netbook is lightweight and easily toted to and from work -- it fits in my purse!  My kids have played on it and been rough with it.  Also, last week I accidentally dropped it down a flight of stairs.  Amazingly, despite all it has been through, the netbook still functions perfectly.  It didn't even crack when I dropped it.  My operating system is Windows 7 Starter.  I would have preferred Windows XP, but at the time I bought the 7 Starter netbooks were cheaper.  I actually am impressed with Windows 7 Starter because it is basic and easy to use, without too many errors.  I wish it had a function where you could change your desktop background though.  The only cons to having an Aspire One is that obviously there is no disk drive and the hard drive is small.  But if you use it only for surfing the internet like I do, it's perfect. Also, my system gets painfully slow whenever windows tries to download updates. This is frustrating but predictable.

Acer Aspire One netbook - a lot of quality in a little package!

By

from Silver City, NM

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

The Acer Aspire One netbook is a very small but excellant quality computer. It is lightweight and portable so you can put it in a bag and take it anywhere.  It is fairly easy to learn to use- this was my first computer so I didnt know a lot about computers and the Acer One Aspire has been a very useful tool for me. It is a little difficult using the smaller keypad sometimes, but that is the only negative.  For my needs, this small netbook serves me well and does the things I need it to do. It is so small that it doesnt require a lot of space to use - I have connected a mouse to my Acer One Aspire because I find it easier to use than the built in track pad, and I keep it on a small table. I also connected two small speakers (it has built in speakers but the ones I added make it a little easier to use and adjust the sound). It is excellant on its own, but it is nice that you can add the speakers, etc. and really personalize the Acer One Aspire. This netbook is a very good value!

Love my netbook!

By

from Mesa, AZ

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

I have been in the market for some time now for a netbook and finally found the right one for me! The Acer Aspire is a great lightweight fast machine and meets all my needs. I am able to easily connect to my home network, use the internet for couponing, email, blogging and much more. I love how compact it is - it travels well and is great when we are on vacation for keeping in touch and downloading and uploading photos from our digital camera. The price on this product was too good to pass up. The only thing that is missing seems to be microsoft office, it came with a free trial but for my needs this won't be a big loss I would probably use my home computer for any word or excel items i would need to work on anyways. I have never owned a netbook and it does take some time to get use to the compact keyboard compared to a laptop but I have caught on quickly and it far outweighs the con of how bulky a full sized laptop is. I also use my netbook to search out recipes and then can easily bring my netbook to the kitchen to prepare them! This is a dream  machine for this mom!

Acer Netbooks are Great For Carrying Around

By

from Grand Rapids, MI

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

It is a pain hauling a 15' or bigger laptop computer to school/College/ or back and forward to work. I was so excited to see a small computer that was thin and light weight. Netbooks make IPAD look silly. With a netbook you can write documents, internet, and basically everything a big laptop can do but without the CD/DVD drive. The battery life is wonderful. My batterly lasts from 6-8 hours. My Acer has two USB ports, a camera card slot, and even 250 GB Hard Drive. The only problem it can't handle more than 14 pages going all at once. This is a must if for kids in school and a must for college.

Love my Acer Aspire One netbook

By

from Binghamton, NY

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

I bought the AcerAspireOne netbook on a total whim with no information on these netbooks at all. My regular laptop was in the shop for a complete overhaul and I needed something to get me through until it was fixed. I purchased the netbook knowing only that Acer was a reliable brand. Once I got the netbook and unwrapped it, I was pleasetly surprised with the color and size. Very light weight and cute (got mine in the red) I settled down assuming that it would take me a while to get the thing up and running. I was wrong! I pretty much hit power and was ready to roll! Easy start up with Windows 7 starter and hooked up to my wireless.

I really like how easy it is, how small and compact it is and how it is just your basi computer. It definitely has limitations- it runs slower on the internet then my regular computer and there aren't any bells and whistles to Windows 7 starter... nor is it great for photos or word processing- however, it is th best deal for easy access to the internet and portablility. Great for the blogger!!

Perfect for on the go easy access

By

from Owego, NY

Comments about Acer Aspire One Netbook PC:

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY NETBOOK!!!! This is the perfect little light weight computer! You can take it anywhere with you! The small 10" design fits on your purse. I also have a little carrying case for it and it's not huge like a brief case and barely takes up any space. The battery lasts quite some time as well. It has a farely long life and doesn't have to be charged often unless of course you're on it 24/7. The webcam is SUPER handy! I use the webcam when I don't have my digital camera or want to get big pictures. The size and quality of the pictures is wonderful! The pictures come out very clear and the shutter tine is nothing. I can take multiple pictures at once because it doesn't take seconds to focus and take the picture, it takes it the second you click the button to and saves it. That way you can take a bunch of pictures and not miss a split second of any moment because we all know the way cameras work and when it focuses you may miss that split second you wanted to capture. The webcam also takes video which takes clear audio and as much video time as you want. It's a great computer! My 10 year old nephew even has one! We both got them for christmas!
