I just got a kitten, and when I went to the cat food aisle, I was surprised by how many different brands of cat food there were. I decided to try 9 lives. It is a brand I have heard good things about, it had a good variety of flavors and types, and it was just a little more expensive than the store brand. When we got the kitty (who had been eating a store brand), he had some issues with hairballs, so I went with the indoor complete variety. Our cat is at a very healthy weight, is very active, the hairball problem is gone, and we have a very happy, loving kitty. I am completely comfortable feeding this product to my cat and I am 100% satisfied with the results! I also like that there are many different types of this food to promote aging cats and more, so I can stick with this brand if my cat's needs change. Flavor Selection Quite a few different flavors and varieties. It is one of the reasons I decided to try this brand.

We're often switching brands and varieties. I've had cats my entire life and over the last ten years I've been involved in buying tons of different foods. I usually get a new food every two weeks for my cats. I feel that the variety helps keep them from being so picky and that perhaps it keeps them from getting bored with their food and plateauing as we humans would if we ate the same thing everyday. The reason I am giving this a 6 is not because my cats didn't love it, but because it says it's an indoor formula that helps with coats and hairballs. I just didn't see that from this product. I don't notice any difference in my cats coats. They aren't shiny or glossy. They are soft, but they're always soft. I also don't notice any help with hairballs. We don't get them too often really in my opinion for how fuzzy my cats are, but this didn't help the frequency or quantity of hairballs at all. this food may have more minerals and vitamins in it that are good for my indoor cats, but insofar as being a help for coats and hairballs, it just didn't do it. The smell of this must be pretty good and the taste. My three cats come running when we use this one. They meow and beg to be fed so they definitely enjoy it. It smells bad to me but their foods usually do. Also, it is very brightly colored which is useless for my cats and tells me they are adding too many dyes (any dye is too many in my opinion) to my cats food. I don't need it to be pretty, I just need it to be healthy. I know the cats don't care. Quality of Ingredients I'm just not overly impressed. I'm giving this a five simply because the indoor formula has a little more than the regular but as always, I supplement with some extra protein because this doesn't have a lot of Taurine relative to what I feel they need. Flavor Selection I have to say this particular line I have only seen two flavors available but 9 lives in general has a decent amount of flavors to choose from.

I bought this cat food because I wanted to give my cats something better than Special Kitty. Big mistake as my cats wouldn't eat it. I was hoping it was just because of the change of food. So I gave them over a week to get use to the change and kept giving it to them. Two of my cats lost weight however so had to change back to their regular cat food. Well, there is one of my cats that is a little overweight. I've even have her on a restricted diet and she's still fat. Well she ate it, but she also eats asparagus and other vegetables, even lettuce. So I think she'd eat just about anything, but she wasn't very enthused about it, as she didn't eat very much at a time. I went back to Special Kitty for the other two cats. My fat cat has just finished it and it's taken her over 6 weeks, funny thing, I didn't even have to restrict her eating. She just wouldn't eat very much at a time of it. She also lost a little weight. So if you have a fat cat, maybe this food is good at helping their weight. I just don't think it has that much flavor to it. Quality of Ingredients Ranking the ingredients higher as I do feel this is nutritious for cats. I just think it's a very bland cat food. Years ago I had a cat to get very sick. We took him to the veterinarian and she said he had a deficiency and wasn't getting enough taurine. She gave him a shot and instructed us to look at the back of the cat food bags and make sure we chose a cat food with taurine on the ingredient list. I had been purchasing the store brand cat food and apparently it did not have taurine in it. I now use 9 Lives indoor formula and my cats are doing great! They have energy, they are healthy and they have beautiful soft coats. It was important to get the indoor formula because it has nutrients in it that indoor cats cannot get. Outdoor cats have access to things the indoor cats do not so the indoor formula includes those things. Our cats also won't touch certain kinds of cat food but they like the 9 Lives, As a matter of fact as soon as I bring a bag home if I don't put it away immediately they will bite and tear until the bag has a hole in it so they can sneak a few pieces out.

I must say I purchased this food because our normal dry cat food was not in stock at Wal-Mart. Our cats didn't want to eat it at all and finally we gave the bag to my sister in law so as not to waste it. Quality of Ingredients Mediocre quality at best but for the money it will work if your cats aren't finicky like mine. Flavor Selection There are only two flavors that I have seen and that is not what I call a big selection.

My cat and kitten are very picky little eaters. I have tried many different foods and they will not eat a lot of them. No matter what kind I buy of this they will eat it happily. This is a very affordable brand of food to feed my cats that is still good for them to eat. Quality of Ingredients I feel like the ingredients could be a little bit better quality products but for the amount of money you spend on this food it is well worth its cost. The ingredients are well filling for my cats to eat. With some of the other brands they act like they are starving and try to eat through the food bag. Flavor Selection There is a great selection of different flavors in this food. All the different flavors my cats both love. The selection is great no matter what size bag of food you are looking for. They even have flavors that are good for all different kinds of medical issues. I tend to use the flavor that has the add help for urinary tract infections and kidney problems.

Both cat were brought up on Science Diet, yet at age 2 I thought I'd try a change. That change was 9 Lives, and they have enjoyed every morsel. At age 5 both are shinny and healthy, with great breath and teeth. I don't intend to change again Quality of Ingredients The ingredients seem well balanced. I have bought many different kinds of cat food for my picky eater. After trying many different brands, flavors, etc... i brought this home to her one day. Usually she will just smell the food, pick at it a little here and there but will never finish the bowl at once. When i filled her dish with the Friskies, she immediately jumped in and started to eat, finishing the whole dish unlike with any brand before. Since feeding her the Friskies, i can tell a huge change in her behavior as she is now more active, loves to play more and just seems to feel better. In my opinion there is no comparison between Friskies and other cat food brands. The price is an excellent value, you can also find a coupon for this food in almost any sunday paper or online coupon site, which is even better! I think Friskies is a great product and would definately recommend to anyone with furry purring babies.

My cats urine would always smell and I could not figure out why! Well, it was the type of kitty food I was feeding her! So I switched to nine lives and now her urine doesn't smell anymore!! She absolutely loves nine lives cat food! She eats it three times a day and has not had problems with her urine smell anymore. :)

I recently found a beautiful stray calico, and, of course, had to take her home. 9 Lives Indoor Complete happened to be on sale at the time so I grabbed a bag. Needless to say, she went wild for it. By the time she was finished, her little tummy was poking out on both sides, and she found the nearest blanket to curl up and rest in. I like this particular brand and formula because it seems to prevent so many hairballs (I know this from previous experience). I personally think, too, that the cat's hair is shinier and softer (not sure if it's the cat food or just providing her with much needed love). 9 Lives is a brand I have trusted for many years for many cats as the cats always seem to do well on it and ask for more. Quality of Ingredients Provides a good balance for indoor cats who can't get needed nutrition from outdoor greens and grass. Flavor Selection My cats have always went wild over this food. And the nice thing is, 9 Lives has a line of different food for each age stage of the cat.
