This mousse starts out great. After a few hours it begins to lose it's control of the hair. It starts to get flatter and the volume dies down. I noticed it dries out my hair. I liked this mousse because it's not tested on animals, is cheap, and smells good. My hair doesn't feel too weighed down by it, but if you use too much it will dry white or grey on your hair or crunchify parts of it. If you don't use enough your hair can get frizzy or out of control. You have to use just the right amount, and then redo your hair(reapply mousse and hair spray) several hours later otherwise it gets a very unnatural hat head look going on. The fresh start mousse is better. Although it costs more, and you get less in the bottle, you can use less product. It feels much lighter, and still smells good. It seems to last just as long as the regular mousse, but since you use less it's easier to reapply this later. I would give this product a higher rating if it was less drying and the results lasted from day to night, with out touchups. It's hard to touch up with a full size bottle at work.

I have used Tresemme products in the past, and I have been satisfied with the results.  That said, however, I would NOT recommend this mousse!  First of all, it was a little pricy, but I chose it anyway based on past experience with the Tresemme brand.  It says it offers "Extra Hold", but I didn't find that it delivered that at all!  It actually left my hair feeling sort of sticky and stiff - more like hairspray than mousse.  As far as the "humidity control" it claims, I didn't find that it worked for that either.  I have naturally curly hair - more wavy, since it is almost waist-length - and my hair is prone to flyaways in humid weather.  I used some of this mousse the other night when I went out to tame some of that, and within an hour of wearing it, it ceased to work.  I had to use a substantial amount of product to achieve any sort of desired result at all.  All in all, I would not recommend this product, it is a waste of money.

The TRESemme Tres Extra Hold mousse really isn't my favorite.   The bottle said that it has firm all day control and is humidity resistance.  I think the fact that it says it is a "professional formula" as well as that it is salon quality got me to buy it.    I should have read the back of the bottle prior to purchasing though.  It says that you need to use "2-3 egg-sized dollops" on your hair because  "you need more than you think".  I wouldn't have bought it if I had read that part first.  The bottle mentions other products that you might need to buy in addition to the mousse to get the correct look.  I definitely am a big believer in the less is more philosophy, not more is more.  I thought this mousse worked just like a cheaper store brand.  I was expecting a much better product than this.  I really do need to use a large amount to get the hold necessary and my hair feels dried out after using it.
