If someone wants to travel to India then I would highly recommend travelGuru.com. It not only has many flight & hotel options but also provides a big discount (I've got a discount of even 50%). It is a comprehensive site with different language selection, currency selection and one can get complete travel package (internationally) including the cheaper airfare plus the hotel stay. It also gives you various options from service providers to choose from so that we can select the flight+hotel based on our budget & convenience.
Ease of Use
This website is very easy to use, mostly self explanatory so one doesn't need to really spend much time to figure out what needs to be done.
It gives many options of service providers and also offers big discounts. Very easy to use
The customer service is good. Though it took them to answer and kept me on hold for a longer period however I am pretty satisfied with their responses to my queries and concerns.
Highly overpriced airfares and hotels, terrible customer service
The Bottom Line: Wow is all I can say. And not in a good way. Travelguru.com is an Indian travel site that is really geared towards people traveling within India. You do have the option of looking up deals for other countries, but prices are highly inflated, whether it is for a hotel stay or airfares. I could not possibly recommend this website to anyone.
For non Indian users, you will need to change the settings to get search results that make sense such as the currency. For air travel it transfers you to another website called Yatra.com. Prices for airfare are OUTRAGEOUS. I compared two identical itineraries and the difference between Yatra and the other website was over $400, Yatra being the more expensive one. I also found that the hotel rates are at least 15% to 20% higher on Travelguru than other US based websites. I always recommend using more than one booking site when planning a trip because prices really can vary greatly. So don't expect to really solely on this website for the best prices.
Ease of Use
This websites is very busy and really cluttered, which makes it fairly unpleasant to use. The search engine is simple enough and gives you lots of results and the ability to see hotel results on a map which is helpful. Nothing really sets it apart from other travel planning website and remains pretty standard as far as features go.
The features of this website are really more catered to people traveling within India. AS far as features go they are similar to other travel website with options to search for hotels flight and package deals.
I e-mailed Travelguru several times (4 to be exact) regarding an itinerary I was somewhat interested in, and guess how many responses I received? Zero. So I don't know if it is because they are in India and I am in the USA, but I would think that would not matter with e-mail. Regardless, I ended up finding a much better deal elsewhere after doing a bit more homework, which I am glad I did.
Great help in finding travel packages!
I used this site to help myself find a travel package to Nepal during a missions trip in college; I was highly impressed with this feature as many sites did not include this country on their schedules and touring options. The site was easy to navigate with, with all of the cities they travel to found right on the front page. I also liked that their flight section was simple and straight-forward to use as well. The site also allows the buyer to pick packages in weekly intervals and to be as inclusive or exclusive as they wish in terms of added amenities as well. One downside of the site is that the prices are in Rupees, but this is not really a deal breaker for myself or my friends who used the site as well. The site also allowed me to add a great extra night in Delhi after our missions trip to help us relax and unwind before we headed home to the states. I cannot say enough great things about this site and would highly recommend it as well.
I saw an advertisement of Travelguru last year and immediately visited the website to check out the packages and deals offered on the website. I checked out that the website has five options like Destinations, Chains Hotels, Last Minute Deals, Super Saver Hotels and All Deals. I chose the Super Saver Hotel deal and I got a discount of about 40 percent which was a huge discount as I could find the hotel I had earlier though off. I booked the hotel of my choice and then called up their customer care to clear my doubts and confirm the booking but it took a long time for the customer care agent to confirm the booking and this was a bit upsetting for me. I got a confirmation within an hour and was excited for making my first transaction with the website.
The website has over 20 hotels to choose from in various cities and almost every hotel has a 20-40 percent discount available. I will surely recommend the website to my friends as well.
