My husband got me this indoor/outdoor thermometer for Christmas because I had said I would love to know the temperature outside before I go running in the mornings. This fits the bill. It gives indoor and outdoor temperature, indoor humidity, the day and time. You can buy additional outdoor units so you can monitor temperature in up to three locations (up to 100 feet away from the base unit). It has an alarm function but we don't use that. But MAN it caused trouble. When we set it up, it would beep each day, like an alarm! It took us a few days to figure out that it was coming from the thermometer! When we figured out it was the alarm setting, we could NOT find anywhere in the manual how to turn it off. We called customer service and after I told them what product I was calling about, the first thing they asked was "Is it beeping?" Apparantely the default setting when you turn it on is to have the alarm ON and there is no section of the manual on how to turn it off, only how to set the time! Once we got this fixed, there has been no further problems. It is accurate and gives time and temp just like I need!
