Promethazine / Phenergan is a wonderful medication for nausea. It actually knocks out the nausea within about forty-five minutes after you take it.Phenergan comes in a Tablet, or a suppository in case you are to nauseated to take it by mouth. I know from experiance that it could prevent dehydration. I was in the Hospital once and was having a lot of nausea and vomiting. I was given a Phenergan injection which stopped all that for about four hours. I was given a prescription for the suppositories when I was ready to go home. Promethazine or Phenergan really helps with nausea but it does have some side effects. The most dominant is that it causes drowsiness. Which was fine with me because I was so sick I welcomed the sleep. I was hoping it would all be gone when I woke up. Promethazine- which is the generic for Phenergan can also cause another side effect,mostly in the elderly. It has been known to cause confusion. Which is mostly in the elderly. I highly recommend Promethazine for nausea. Just remember you need a Prescription.
