No, this doesn't last 16 hours. It is, however, reasonably 'smooch proof,' so we're 50/50 on truth in advertising. I had mixed feelings with another company's lipstain when it premiered; I loved the results, hated the applicator. This one wins both categories. It goes on very easily and comfortably, with a tapered tip that makes lining and filling-in easy and hassle free. It tidies up off of skin easily if you go outside the lip line, and comes off easily when you wash your face, too. It wears comfortably for a couple of hours, and I find it's most pleasant if I top it with a little bit of gloss to keep some moisture. It gets bonus points from me for color-realness; I've spent a ton of money on different drugstore lipsticks/balms/glosses lately with disappointing results; nothing seemed to match the tube once I put it on. These colors go on clean and true to the tube; my favorites are Never Ending Nude and Rock On Ruby (the first 'red' I've found that doesn't accentuate my less-than-pearly-white teeth). Winner!

I was hesitant to buy this product because the price is relatively inexpensive compared to other lipstains on the market. I purchased it anyway thinking what could it hurt. I was pleasantly surprised. It stayed on for a couple hours and the color was beautiful! I believe I picked the medium shade. I would probably buy a lighter one this time because if you apply it, let it dry, then apply again you can achieve a darker color. However it doesn't necessarily last longer than just one coat. It's kind of like a marker for your lips. I really like the product. I just line my lips and then fill them in. If I'm going for a natural look, you can apply it and then go! If you want more of an intense look, use this cosmetic as a base, then apply your vibrant lip stick over it and it really helps your look to last longer compared to just using lipstick. I would definitely purchase this product again and I would recommend it for other people to purchase, as long as they are careful on what shade they pick!

A lot of lip stains are like lip gloss but when the shiny wears off it leaves your lips colored. This one is like a marker that you draw on your lips with and then you can leave it like it is or you can add a lip gloss to give it a little shine. I like that the marker is easy to use but you have to be careful because if you get it outside of your lip line you cannot just wipe it off. I have to use rubbing alcohol to get it off. If it is something that you plan on using everyday it would be fine that it did not come of but I do not do my makeup the same everyday so I would not wear the same shade of lipstick everyday. If i get the lipstain on my hand it can end up on my clothes and it stains really bad. Even on dark colored clothing. It is a good product as in it stays on all day or night without having to reapply your lipstick. Good for busy women because you can have beautiful lips all day long. I do not like my lips to be the only thing that people see when they look at me and I feel that is what this product does. Not the product for me but I would still recommend it.

I purchased NYC Smootch Proof Lip Stain knowing that I was going to put a gloss over the top of it. I love it! It definitely doesn't last as long as it says it does, but it is so inexpensive that I am not too worried about having to re-apply it every couple of hours. It is pretty easy to apply as well. Just make sure you don't get it outside of your lips because it will take a little bit of scrubbing to get it off. I have had mind for a little over a month now and would say that I use it approx. once a week. The taste isn't all that great so you don't have to worry about wanting to lick it off. The only thing that I really don't like about this lip stain is that fact that it makes my lips feel really dried out, which is why I put lip gloss over the top of it. It definitely is not a moisturizer and it may bother those with super sensitive lips. The colors are gorgeous and it really makes your lips pop!
