This was the first telescope I bought about five years ago. I got it second hand so the electronics were not working, however, you can use this telescope without the electronic components nonetheless. It is light weight, and comes with multiple lenses, incluing a barlow eyepiece. Most genereric lesnes will fit on this model as well. The viewfinder is really helpful, especially for beginners. Also, the tripod is pretty sturdy and easy to adjust to different heights. The body comes off really easily if you travel with it, and the lightweight frame is a bonus. I have taken some pretty good pictures of the moon and Jupiter through this telescope. The only thing you must be careful of is how you store it and clean the main lens (as with any telescope). If you leave this telescope stored outside, there is a good chance condensation will collect inside the tube and can ruin it forever. You also need to make sure you always keep the cap on because once dust collects around the main lens, it is pretty hard to clean and will distort your image. All in all, a really great item that is durable and will last!
