This product is found on the same shelf with the bouillons. It comes in a plastic jar, is loose (not pressed into little individually wrapped cubes) and doesn't need refigerated. But most of all it tasted great and is very versatile. I do use it as a soup base but I also use it in casseroles instead of salt (it contains salt but also adds other flavor). Mostly, though, I like to sip chicken broth and this tastes great. It isn't overwhelmed by other flavors like carrots, celery,or onions used in stock making. It is very convient and easy to use. And I'm not trying to peel off those little foil wrappers from cubes. Notevery one in my house likes to eat soup, so I tend to make a lot of one-bowl soups (like reconstituting the base and throwing in a tablespoon of pastina, a couple leftover meatballs, and some fresh spinach-great and easy wedding soup). They also make Beef soup base and Ham soup base! Throw in some egg noodle and leftover roast and carrots, simmer until soft and you have a couple of servings of beef noodle soup. Couldn't be easier or tase better!
