This is my first coffee grinder and I don't know why I waited so long! It is so easy to use and makes my coffee so mucb more flavorful!

I love this product. I have had mine for two years now and use it most days. It has held up nicely and the power hasn't changed at all. It's nice and small. It's comes in a few colors (I got the red bc everything from my steak knives to bedding is red). It's quiet enough to use in a 400 square foot studio apartment without waking the other person (although be realistic and realize it is not silent). Since getting this, I have stopped buying pre-ground beans and love the experience of my morning coffee so much more. I have also used it for spices and once to try to grind my almond flour more. It was NOT good for this purpose. It ground the almond meal so much that it became almond paste and I barely held it down. For a chore like that you are better off using a food processor. I like that the metal cup on top can easily be removed and out in the dishwasher so you don't get transfer of flavored between various uses. The only reason I would ever get rid of this is if I purchased an automatic grind and brew combination coffee pot.

I actually use this to grind tapioca for pies, and it works great! It pulverized them so they dissolve perfectly. I have also used it to grind hard grains for baby food, and it worked well for that. My husband goes through coffee like nobody's business and this has held up well. We got it as a wedding present in 2005, and it has been grinding coffee, tapioca, grains and beans since then. The grinder is easy to use, just snap the metal portion in place, put the lid down and press. You just hold the lid down until you are satisfied with the level of grinding. It is also easy to clean. Most of the time, you can just dry wipe it down, but if switching for coffee to nutmeg to cloves to tapioca, you can always just easily wash it is the sink. It may even be dishwasher safe, but it is so easy to clean that that hasn't been necessary. Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with this coffee grinder.

I bought this a few months ago, not to use as a coffee grinder, but to grind spices and some soft grains. I already had a coffee grinder, but didn't like that all the parts that come in contact with the food were not washable. The KitchenAid Blade Coffee Grinder solves this problem completely. I have a son with severe allergies and I have to be careful not to cross-contaminate his foods, so being able to put all the parts that come in contact with food into the dishwasher is a definite plus! Other grinders can only be wiped with a damp cloth, so I really appreciate this feature. I also find that it has sharp enough blades and enough power to get a very fine grind, which isn't possible with many other grinders. I keep this out on my counter top and I use it several times per week. I love all the Kitchen Aid products and this is just another great product. Such a reliable brand!

I receive the KitchenAid Blade coffee grinder as a gift from my mother. I have this grinder in red, and I have to say, it is really fantastic at its job...I've used it for grinding whole bean coffee, spices, etc., and the 'just-push-the-lid-to-start' function is awesome...no buttons to hold, no multiple settings...just push and grind. Done. So simple, so user-friendly...and you can grind it to exactly the texture (fine...ness?) you want. (My roommate, for example, preferred his coffee beans to be less finely ground than I tend to go for...this is a great way to mitigate any differences in preference!) My one and only complaint is that it's kind of a pain to clean...hard to get in around the blades and really feel like you've gotten it good and clean, especially since coffee beans leave behind that oily residue... But overall, it's worth it for the ease of use, and if you're only using it for coffee (unlike me, with my snooty spices, lol), I can't imagine that some residual coffee oil is going to be much of an issue, right? To summarize: great, standup, reliable brand does it again! :-)

I'm so tickled with my blade coffee grinder. It's one of the best investments I've ever made in an appliance. Not only does it grind my fresh coffee whole beans,but I use it for several great shortcuts. I grind my flax seeds in it which by the way are better ground than whole.. I grind fresh herbs after they've dried out. If a recipe calls for ground oatmeal there you have it. It's a small appliance,and so easy to store.

I'm so pleased with the efficiency & easy of clean-up of this product.  It's got great safety features, too.  The locking mechanism ensures the blades can't run without the cover firmly in place -- but then, just press down on the top for a few seconds, and, VOILA! perfectly ground coffee for a drip machine, or any other, depending on how long you press down.

I've had this grinder for a couple of years now and use it exclusively for spices. It's quick, easy to use, stores nicely in my spice cabinet, and is easy to clean. It grinds small amounts very quickly and evenly. I have used it for coffee once or twice, and found that to be very uneven and unpredictable when grinding more than 6 cups worth or so, especially compared to my burr grinder. But for spices it's pretty well perfect. The steel bowl won't transfer flavors or absorb essential oils so I have no fear of using it for even the most potent spices. The cord wraps up pretty neatly, and since the bowl can be completely removed I can store it on a very short shelf in 2 compact pieces. It is very easy to clean since both the bowl and cover are top rack dishwasher safe. I haven't had any issues with the plastic cover cracking, scratching or fogging. Overall, perfect for spices, just OK for coffee.* *

This must be one of the top coffee grinders that I ever bought. It is very nice-looking with its sleek and modern look. Also it's compact, well designed & does the job. The cup can be removed to empty the ground item, and can be washed easily by putting it in the dishwasher. Also, the cup is much larger than the other machines that I've had. It is not limited to just coffee as I used this grinder to grind spices, seeds and black sesame, and it does a great job with each and every one of these. The plastic grinders are unsafe, since over time the plastic is damaged by the hard coffee bean and spices, and remains of plastic is getting in your food. I searched for a stainless steel grinding bowl for safety reasons, and found this. This is a small gem. I only wish that kitchenaid sells extra cups.
