I have always been a baby powder user for myself. For many years I sprinkled the powder on after showers or baths to help my skin to feel drier. I would probably still be using the regular, but am not. Here's why. I was able to learn quite a bit about J&J Pure Cornstarch Baby Powder with Aloe and Vitamin E when my Mom became ill and had to be moved into a nursing home. I was there when she was bathed and noticed that the baby powder that was being used was the Cornstarch Baby Powder by Johnson's. I asked the nurse about it because at that time I had never seen it before. She explained that, especially with elderly, the cornstarch helps keep the skin from breaking down. When damp skin lays on damp skin (stomach folds, thighs touching, breasts laying on chest) for extended periods of time, the skin can begin to break down and infection can occur. The regular baby powder is made with ingredients that do not withstand the time that will keep moisture from occurring like the cornstarch does. She also explained that baby powders were made with a talc that is finer than cornstarch. This powder can be inhaled easier and could hinder breathing, again especially in the elderly who already may have breathing problems. I was amazed and convinced that I would switch to the cornstarch baby powder. I am of a somewhat large size and knew that I could only benefit and prevent any problems with my skin. I have used Johnson's Pure Cornstarch Baby Powder ever since and I love it! When I apply it I can feel a difference in the consistency, the cornstarch is a little heavier and yet smoother. I love the way it spreads and doesn't dissolve when it hits damp skin. I find it lasts much longer, keeping me drier for longer periods of time. I am not very tolerant to hot temperatures, yet with the cornstarch baby powder I don't get all clammy and really feel cooler. I recommend this cornstarch baby powder with aloe and vitamin E to anyone who suffers from any type chaffing or body perspiration that is persistent and uncomfortable. I also highly recommend it for use on the elderly or babies who are prone to having layers of skin touching skin for long periods of time.
