MUST HAVE MUST HAVE MUST HAVE

I was only familiar with jojoba oil for body massage but now I use this product for the face, after exfoliation and washing most nights, especially in the winter. It leaves the skin super soft and fresh and youthful looking. It is not sticky. Does not smell, gets absorbed quickly, does not stain your pillow. Wear it half hour before bedtime. It is a bit shiny. Wake up in the morning and you can wear a day moisturizer. Good for your skin. Clean product. No artificial substances.

Desert Essence Jojoba Oil - one of the most cost effective

5

I've been using Desert Essence Jojoba Oil for a couple of years and recently switched to the Organic Jojoba Oil. I use it as a lower-cost moisturizer for my combination skin. I read the Dr. Hauschka beauty book (don't remember the name) and their company subscribes to the "like treats like" theory. The theory with oily skin is that if you use an oil-free moisturizer, then your skin will produce more oil to compensate. If you moisturize with an oil compatible for your skin, then it won't produce extra oil and will actually reduce its oil production. Anyway, I think that's true. I've noticed that since I've been using this product, my skin seems more "balanced" - not too oily and not too dry. I add some tea tree, lavender, rose and geranium essential oils for scent and because it helps to keep my skin clear. You could also use it as a cleanser to deep clean your pores and scalp (it dissolves grime in your pores), but I'd probably use some other oil as jojoba is rather expensive for that purpose. BTW, jojoba is actually a liquid wax and not an oil, but it most similar to the sebum that our skin produces for moisture.

Jojoba oil is great for me.

5

I got this Desert Essence Jojoba Oil from Trader Joes because my sister recommended to me for my hair. It is too greasy to use on my hair. Although it is possible if you use very little. I do use it about once a week before I shower. I grease up my hair with jojoba oil and let it sit there for about 15 minutes and then I shower. My hair becomes really silky and less dry after using this product. The most amazing thing about jojoba oil is the affect it has on my skin. I love it! I read that jojoba oil is good in shrinking down pores, so I decided to try it on my face. After about a week, I was starting to notice the difference. My pores were actually shrinking! It works the best when I have cleared out my pores first if they are clogged. In addition, it feels amazing on my body. I have not used it enough on the body to know the affects, but it is not greasy at all and it feels awesome.

I use this product for so many things

I have never used a product that was so helpful for my dry skin until I began using Desert Essence jojoba oil. Each time after I shower, I massage some of it onto my body, and it keeps my skin moist without feeling greasy. I have found that it is great for soothing post-shave irritation. In fact, although it is an oil, it absorbs a lot better than any other moisturizer I've used. Besides dry skin, I have also found jojoba oil to be extremely beneficial for my cystic acne. Since I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, my acne is persistant and I have tried a lot of products over the years to rid my skin of the affliction. Although most people would associate an oil with causing acne, this oil actually balances the skin and gets rid of dry skin which can be a culprit in causing pimples. I often put it on before bed, along with a bit of pure aloe vera gel, and usually find that my acne is a lot better than before I applied the oil and aloe. Further, it also cleanses the skin, making it a great natural makeup remover; I use it almost every night to remove my eyeliner and eyeshadow. Sometimes, I also mix it with some white sugar until it forms a paste, creating a great exfoliator for my face and even my legs. It also works well for my hair, as a scalp and anti-frizz treatment, but I have to be careful to only use a very tiny amount, otherwise my hair can start to look too greasy. Jojoba oil works great as a natural, chemical-free moisturizer, cleanser, acne fighter, and hair/scalp treatment, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking any of these things.

Great for hair and face

5

I love this product for both my hair and face. I have very long hair and it's great after a shower as a leav-in conditioner to make sure oils get to my hair. It's nice and light and isn't too heavy, and doesn't leave a heavy smell like other oils can. On my face, a few drops is all that is needed to make my face feel wonderful. I don't need to use other moisturizers, unless I need a sunscreen. A small bottle lasts a long time, since you don't need to use very much. I've recommended this to many people who have commented on my hair and skin.  It's nice when travelling, you can bring the one bottle for moisturing your hair, face, body, even for massages. It's not available tons of places. I can usually find it at health food stores, trader joes, and online. The big chain supermarkets tend not to carry it. All in all, I think this is a great, versatile product that I would reccommend to just about anyone.

I love Desert Essences!

Desert essence has some of the best products! They are soo gentle, and they can suit all skin types. I know because my skin is a mixture of types, and it is constantly changing, but my satisfaction with desert essence always stays the same! I am soo glad I found this line of products, I generally reccommend it to everyone, I've ven ordered it for others! The Jojoba oil is great, if you can find it with tree tea oil as well, its a plus. It leaves your skin feeling clean, tingly, and fresh! Its a great way to start the day and wake up in the morning - forget coffee! I really like the way it cleans my skin, but it might require a really good (and safe for your face) moisturizer to compensate for any dryness (it tends to strip your skin of its oils - but from down under deep in your pores!) It smells pretty good too, and I usually dont use it every day - maybe like 4 times a day, because if I use it too much it would dry my skin out too much.

multi-purpose wonder!

it seems that so far everyone who has used this product has used it primarily for skin care.  when we first picked up a bottle of Desert Essence jojoba oil, we did so mostly to use it as a massage oil, because it's great for the skin.  don't get me wrong, it works great as a massage oil, but did you know that it's great for hair too? for the past 10 years, i've been growing my hair out, cutting it off to donate to Locks of Love, and then repeating.  with every cycle i seem to learn a little more about how best to take care of my hair.  sadly, when most people think about "managing" their hair, they think in terms of blow dryers and flat irons and gels and sprays and dyes...all damaging things.  not much thought ever seems to be given to really *caring* for hair, but that's what i'm most interested in doing. the last time i grew my hair out, i learned 2 important things.  one is the value of wearing a satin sleep cap to bed at night.  yes, these sleep caps are typically found with African American hair care products, but anyone of any race could probably use a little less wear and tear on their hair, especially for longer hair, and that's what sleep caps are all about.  secondly, i learned that jojoba oil very closely mimics the sebum of our own scalps and is amazingly healthy for our hair!  you can use jojoba oil just like you would a commercial "hot oil" treatment like VO5, but what i really love to do is to apply it to my hair at night and brush it in thoroughly with a boar bristle brush, then pop on a sleep cap and let the oil deeply condition my hair overnight.  the next morning, wash and condition as usual.  afterwards, my hair is always just pristine...soft and smooth, but still with lots of body, and completely managable. i've used the jojoba oil once in a while for moisturizing my skin, and while it is certainly great for that purpose, i can't recommend this product highly enough for conditioning hair!

Jojoba oil has been a life saver!

I have had mild to moderate acne for over 10 years now.  Because of this I've had to use benzoyl peroxide on my face because it's the only thing that seems to work.  It helps keep my acne in control, but as anyone who uses benzoyl peroxide can tell you it dries your face out horribly!  I always had dry-flaky patches on my otherwise oily skin. About a year or so ago someone suggested I use jojoba oil.  Well I've always been taught that I should keep any and all oils away from my face.  I have moderately oily skin, so I use oil-free everything.  I just couldn't believe that there was an oil that wouldn't cause me to break out even more than I already did.  So I was very pessimistic that it would work for me, but I bought a bottle anyway. To my (very pleasant) surprise, it worked like a charm!  I just add a few drops to my night cream, and it takes care of any dryness caused by the benzoyl peroxide.  And it doesn't break me out at all.  It really does work miracles. And occasionally I'll add a few drops to my conditioner when my hair feels a bit drier than usual.  Works so well for that. Dessert Essence Jojoba oil is an amazing product, and I would recommend it to everyone.  Especially to people with oily skin who think they can't use oil.

AMAZING! Definitely a must buy!

Jojoba oil is simply amazing!  I purchased a bottle of this at my local Trader Joes store about 3 months ago. I was a little skeptical about it at first because I had no idea how to use it. Now I use it for just about everything! It has such a wide array of uses. Its non greasy even though its an oil and leaves your skin super soft and moisturized.   I mix a tiny bit into my face moisturizer in my hand then apply. I mix the other part colostrum face cream. The combination of the two has done my face so much good. It's not even funny! My acne cleared up, my skin toned is evened, redness is a little calmed, I don't have to wear concealer or as much face makeup anymore. I feel comfortable in my own skin. I'm 19 years old and that's very hard to find around this age. I also use it as  body moisturizer, makeup remover, and so much more.  Using it as makeup remover leaves my eyes feeling soft and moisturized. It does take off the trickiest of waterproof makeup, eyeliner, eyeshadow, even mascara. Remember a little goes a LONG way when using this product. Put two or three drops onto a cotton swab then proceed.   This really is a miracle oil.  Please pick up this product. You will not regret it. It's multipurpose so everyone can find a way to squeeze it into their daily life. The results are amazing. I recommend this to everyone. Also it's very inexpensive! =)

Jojoba oil is amazing

5

I first read about Dessert Essence jojoba oil on a makeup review site. The multitude of reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I'm trying to incorporate more natural skincare products into my routine and the rave reviews of jojoba oil won me over. I've been applying it on my face every morning and night for the past 4 months. I've never broken out and it has also helped clear up acne on my forehead. The best part is that a lot goes a long way. One teaspoon worth of oil can cover my whole face. I still have over half of the oil remaining. I like to pat it on my face rather than rubbing it on. Who knew oil was so beneficial to your face? I have combination skin but I've read that this oil just about works on all skin types! After shaving my legs, I apply jojoba oil and it instantly gives a sheen to my legs and keeps its moisturized and smooth. I'm very happy this product has worked for me and that it's all natural!
