Nice little grinder for the money

4

This is the first coffee grinder I have ever owned and meets my needs completely. It works consistently and grinds every bean that I put in it. I would say my only complaint is that it is very easy to unknowingly bump the setting switch, but I am now conditioned to look at it before I turn it on. I especially like the retractable cord. This grinder was inexpensive and I think it's definitely worth buying.

Grind It ! Hamilton Beach 80344 Grinde

This grinder is mediocre at best. I have had much better grinders that were half the cost. I have tried to use it primarily as a coffee bean grinder and it fails miserably. It worked just ok for grinding for about a week or so but after that it went downhill quickly. It didnt really grind as fast or a finely any longer. I even tried to use it to gring some spices which are much easier to grind than coffee beans..that didnt work well either. I tried to use it to chop some nuts that do not have to be chopped finely at all and that was a no go as well. I ran out of ways to try and make this grinder to work. I went back to trying it with coffee and eventually it began to smoke and make horrible noises. I was at the point of trying to kill it completely. After about 2 weeks of abuse...i finally killed it. It went out in a blaze of smoke and burnt engine smell. I would never buy a grinder like this again.

I've had this Hamilton Beach grinder for about a year and still works good!  It's the only one I've ever owned, so I don't have another grinder to compare it to.  I have no regrets buying it, and don't see any reason not to recommend it to my family and friends.  Theres nothing like making a pot of coffee from freshly ground coffee beans!  Grinders are great for coffee beans, and also for nuts and seeds.  I like to use my grinder for flax seeds.  The most inexpensive way to consume flax is to buy the seeds whole.  When I discovered this, I needed a way to grind them up, and this grinder works perfect for that!  It makes the task much easier with just the touch of a button!  I add the ground flax seeds in my shakes, and can't even taste them!  I have also put cut herbs in the grinder and placed the ground herbs in capsules to take that way.  A grinder is multi-functional!  I like the color of the grinder.  It has a contemporary look to it.

Works well for coffee, nuts and seeds, with flexible grind.

The Hamilton Beach Custom Grind, model 80344, is quite a handy little appliance. It has multiple settings to allow for coarse (percolator), medium (auto drip) or fine (espresso) grinds. The lid serves as the measuring cup, and is marked for 4, 8, 12 and 15 cups worth of coffee-and this is also reflected on the settings, so you know it will be right every time. Once the lid is locked down, move the lever to the correct setting, hit the On/Off switch, and walk away. It will stop when it has reached the grind you desire. I actually purchased this to grind flax seeds to add to salads, cereals, etc. and a couple of times I have put pecans in to use for baking. Clean-up is easy: just use a barely damp cloth to wipe out the stainless steel interior (watch out that you don't cut yourself on the blade), wash the lid/measuring cup, and you're done. Oh, and the cord is set up to wind into the base when you turn it as if you were opening a jar. I've had a little trouble with that-I think somehow it got off track and will no longer fully rewind, but it's not a big deal. So if you are looking for an easy coffee grinder, yes, I would recommend the Hamilton Beach Custom Grind.
