With its HD quality of pictures and videos, its small size and its resistance to the water ... it is a perfect machine that you can handle anywhere, and use it at any time and keep good memories of the your life . I would give it a 10/10 and suggest it for everybody who wants to get a good camera .

I purchased the silver hero to take on vacation to Mexico, mostly for underwater and beach shots. It delivered everything I could have asked for. The fact that it's always in focus makes it super easy to carry and record. It came with the waterproof casing and we used it most of the time on vacation. We also purchased the floaty orange back for it just in case we dove in the water and it slipped out of our hands. The only thing with the float back is that is compromises the sound, but we were shooting for visuals not noise. Our videos all came our clear and the photos too, but the stills have sort of weird, distorted edges, almost like we were taking pictures through the bottom of a glass, otherwise no complaints on sharpness, despite bright sunlight to shade and everything in between. I guess my only negative comment is there is no back screen on the silver so you can't be totally sure what exactly you're pointing at, but again that's minor. Downloading the Go Pro app and using the editing software was simple and easy to follow. This is a gem of a camera and it really is the most versatile I've even owned. I hope to upgrade to the best in a year or so. Last thing, everyone we saw on vacation with a Go Pro had the stick to walk around with, we really wish we would have spent the extra money on the mount and stick so we could capture more angles and ourselves in the pics/videos!

This camera has been all over and keeps coming back for more. I do some SCCA Rallycross racing with my car in the dirt. The camera has fallen off the car, been covered in mud, tossed around and taken it. My only gripe would be the sound isn't that great. While paint balling, it took a ball straight to the case and still held strong. I have taken it SCUBA diving without worry of a leak It has been sailing through a storm and kept going. It has been to the top of Mt. Whitney and in freezing alpine conditions and still records. It has been dropped in a creek and still works. Most of all, it has been handled by my 7 year old and 3 year old and is still in one piece. I have bought extra batteries so I can keep it with me all day. Extra memory cards too. The picture quality is great, although sound not as much. Be aware that if you want to put it on a tri-pod or some other mount you have to buy the attachment for it.

Whether its bike riding or fishing the Gopro original is an amazing product, probably easier to find at a low price being that it its the original model. I had the Gopro camera for about two and a half years now and its still one of the coolest cameras that I own. One of things that is a problem with the camera is that when you buy the Gopro: Waterproof HD Video Camera it will not have have a screen(so it is had to tell exactly what you are filming) luckily Gopro sells a lot of cool accessories so my biggest advice would be to definitely buy the LCD screen for any GoPro that doesn't have one. Buying the screen does mean that you do have to spend extra money but since it it the older model buying a screen it not a bad deal in price compared to buy the newest GoPro Model for example the GoPro hero 3 Black or Silver edition. I have used the Gopro for many things one of them was used to record a concert. Although with its amazing video quality the audio can sometimes be a problem. when the Gopro is its Skeleton Housing the audio can sound very distorted, a mic adaptor is available for it but I believe it takes away what make the gopro awesome which is how compact and portable it is. you can't go wrong with this product. -Dave

This new version of the GoPro blows the older versions out of the water. It is smaller, lighter and just easier to use overall. The photo and video quality is amazing and it makes it easy to carry around and travel with. The casings are extremely durable and with the number of accessories that are available you can definitely find a combination that will fit whatever you're trying to shoot/film. I've got the surf version so it comes with plenty of stickies and such to attach the cameras to my boards. I do have trouble linking it wirelessly with the remote and the iPhone app sometimes so I'm still trying to figure that out. While it's not as "elegantly" shaped as the Contour's action sports camera I'm more partial to GoPro because the photo quality and durability of the camera itself. Full disclosure I know people who work there so I've also gotten opportunities to play with the different cameras and the accessories.

My teenager does free running, music video and film making. This GoPro is the one to buy! He could even shoot in the pool for quite a long time and came out so clear crisp! The best thing is the size, so tiny to be able to bring anywhere!
