Gross but effective.

2

Well, I was able to try this product a couple of times before giving up on it, so I think I have enough experience with it to give a an informed review. The texture of this product is very goopy and sticky. Its a substance that one does not easily remove from one's hands. I had a difficult time applying it to my hair because of the stickiness of the product. It seemed like it did not want to leave my hands to get onto my hair. Long strings of the product would stay on my hands as I lifted them away from my hair. It was a bit frustrating. When I finally managed to apply the product all over my hair it took quite a long time to dry. The final result was no better or worse than other hair gels I have tried. I hate the idea of wasting money and/or resources so I really wanted to use all of the product. However, the experience of using it was so off-putting I couldn't bear to use it more than twice. I was very disappointed over all since other products I have gotten good results from other products I've tried by this brand.

Garnier works well for thick curly hair.

4

Obviously I do not have thick curly hair but all of my children do and this product is really helpful. It's easy to find in drug stores, grocery stores or online and it's inexpensive too. Whether you want to slick back thick and curly hair for a pony tail or whether you just want to tame that curly mane on humid days, Garnier is really helpful. Get ready because this stuff is like goo. We find it is helpful to wet our hands and work this in. Leaving it curly and just want to tame? We use more water and less product. Need to manage and hold into a hairstyle? We use less water and more product. Either way, be ready to wash your hands because this stuff is sticky but I guess that's why it works so well. **Why we like Garnier Fructis Super Style Gel:** Keeps curls in check with super hold without looking greasy. Offers super hold for pulling back thick curly hair in a pony tail, bun or head band. It's easy to find and inexpensive. As a bonus it even smells really nice. ***My Viewpoint:*** Garnier Fructis Super Style Gel works for Curly Sue or Curly Sam. It's messy to apply but you'll get super hold to tame that mane. I would not recommend this for thin hair but it's wonderful for thick, curly hair.

Super Goopy, almost slime like...But it does do the job.

So I recently purchased this product from my local walgreens (on sale .99), I have really curly and thick hair, I use the Garnier Leave-in conditioner religiously when wearing my hair out and it is excellent. When I want my hair slicked back with no fly away I turn to gel. This gel is super duper gooey, it reminds me of slime mixed with gel, it could surely be used as a glue. When using this make sure you are near a water source as there is no way to simply remove it with a cloth. This product seems to be more manageable when adding a splash of water and rubbing together before adding to hair. Nonetheless this product works, many the products leave my hair mid day and I have to apply another helping of gel. Not with this product it last all day, and if you felt like you needed a touch up rub with damp hand and watch the gel come back alive. I couldn't imagine this product working for someone with really thin hair it is just to thick, it would surely leave you with an overly slick look.

Garnier Super Stiff Gel Ultra Strong fell below par

2

I bought this Garnier Super Stiff Gel Ultra Strong for my husband because he keeps using my curl-scrunching gels. I also bought it because it came with a bonus travel size hairspray attatched for myself. My husband complains every morning because the gel is so thick and sticky. It has a gross feel. I have even tried it out to scrunch my own hair and I can testify that it is indeed gross--way too thick and sticky. However, when my husband uses it, it seems to work fine in his hair for the most part. He has very very short hair and he puts gel in it everyday. I used it to srunch my fine hair and it just weighs my hair down and takes forever to dry. I am waiting until we use up the rest of this product and we will not be purchasing this product again. I use other products for Garnier and thought that this one would be worth it to try, but the texture of the gel is too much mess to deal with.

Garnier Fructis Style Super Stiff Gel keeps my curls in line

3

I originally found this gel when it went on clearance. It's usually not very expensive anyways, but i couldn't pass it up on sale.I've used other *Garnier Fructis* products and for the most part, they all did what they said they would,so I didn't question this buy. Now,my hair is super thick and curly, similar to a lion mane. Most products I try barely tame my beastly hair,so I was surprised when this super stiff gel kept my curls in line all day!If you put it in your hair right after a shower, you can easily comb it through and style in minutes. The only problems that I had with this product is that it had a snot-like consistency that was hard to rub between my palms and it was terrible when working with dry hair because you couldn't get it to spread.so,overall,I would say that this gel is top notch. It has great hold and if you can ignore the odd consistency,it should be perfect for all day hold.

Didn't Hold Much Shape!

2

This gel didn't do much for my hair in terms of holding my waves which was why I bought this product in the first place. It does smell pleasant which is a plus for me but it didn't do what it was suppose to do which was very disappointing. After I put waves in my hair I put this on and it completely weighs my hair down because the product is so thick and goopy. It weighs my hair down so much to the point where it just looks like almost straight. My hair didn't look good at all it looked rather chunky and sloppy. When I use less product in my hair it does hold the shape of my hair a little better but not to the point where the shape of my hair stays through the whole day. I stopped using this product because not only did it not hold shape but it hardens and than leaves white residue in my hair and it looks like chunks of dandruff everywhere. Didn't like this gel much but it wasn't very costly so I guess it wasn't so bad, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Garnier Fructis SUPER DUPER Stiff Gel

4

My hair tends to be fairly straight and flat. Usually I use a little spray or a little dab of some kind of gel to help poof my hair up a bit.My son had a tube of **Garnier Fructis Gel **sitting on the bathroom counter and yesterday, when my hair was looking especially flat, I picked it up and decided to give it a try. Without reading the directions, I squeezed a decent amount of the clear gel onto my fingertips and rubbed my hands together. Wow! I could tell immediately that it felt different from other gels I have used. It was kind of all over the place and was hard at first, to keep it just on my hands.  This is quite thick, but had some 'contrails' that came out with my dollop from the tube. It made a web when I pulled my hands apart. (When I finally did get around to reading the directions, they do say to *'Pull your hands apart to activate the fibers'*.)I put the gel directly into my hair as I normally do with similar products. It felt pretty thick, but it did the job. It certainly did not let me down. After working it into the under layer of my hair, which is my normal procedure, I attempted to run a comb through it to style it the way I like. This stuff is amazing. It's like running a comb through peanut butter, this product is so stiff. Once I got through combing, it did do the trick and my hair looked like it had more body and general poofiness. It didn't feel sticky once it dried either. I can feel the product when I comb my fingers through my hair, but it feels similar to the way hair spray might feel when dried. I was just surprised at how super stiff this gel is. Well, I guess the label doesn't lie! **Garnier Fructis Style Gel** is made with fruit micro-waxes, which apparently is what gives it super strength, but without stickiness or build-up. I can see how it would be perfect for someone who wants to make their hair spikey. It can even hold hair into unusual shapes, such as twists and it will hold them all day. This hair product is something that is being called a "new generation styling product". I'll be using this product again, but a bit less than I used that first time. A little goes a long way with this **Garnier Fructis Super Stiff Gel**. This is a hair product that definitely lives up to its name. If you want to really hold your hair in place, I am recommending this for you.I also noticed that when washing it off of my hands, it took a little bit more than a rinse to do so, but it did come off fairly easily. You can't miss this very bright green squeezable plastic tube (has a twist off cap) and weighs 6.8 ounces (192 g).garnierfructis.com1-800-4GARNIERGarnier LLC, New York  10017

All I can say is LOVE IT! The Garnier Super Stiff Gel is just what its name says! If you want your hair to hold up and stay all day this gel works! Other gels I use don't get hard and are like putting water on your hair. With Garnier, it keeps my curls in all day! Great Product!
