I have fine hair, and I have long hair. And, it just sits at my shoulders. It's very straight. I got this on a whim whne i thought I might want to add a little volume and little extra umph to my hair. It smells pretty. But, it really did nothing for my hair. It might be the length of my hair, so I didn't dog the rating too low. It could just be my personal experience. I love most of Aveda's products, but this one just fell short. I only used it on my root area, and tried to style my hair with a little lift, so my hair wasn't just glued to my scalp. It just fell short. Again, this could be because my hair is really long, and although it's very fine, it probably still has a lot of weight to it. It did smell good, and there was a good bit in the bottle. However, for the money, though, with my personal results, I would buy it again. I was a quite disappointed too, Aveda hardly ever lets me down!

I have a lot of stick straight very fine hair - trust me, at least a half-dozen styists have told me so over the years.  For years I kept my hair very very short because it couldn't hold a style.  Then Aveda introduced Volumizing tonic and I finally could have hair longer than the top of my ears.  Priced per ounce this Volumizing Tonic may seem expensive, but it really lasts because it just need to spritz just a bit at the roots of the hair on the crown of your head.  It is not a styling product for all of your hair.  Rather, it treats the specific problem of holding volume in fine hair.  Dry your hair so it is still quite damp.  Give the roots their spritz, then set in the volume with your dryer at the roots.  You can now apply a general stying product, like Aveda Phomollient, and style your hair - perhaps for the first time - like the rest of the world does.  But unlike every past styling experience, you will find your hair doesn't go flat is one hour or less.  In fact, my experience is that the hair will hold its style for 6 to 10 hours.  Hair bliss for the fine textured.

I have horribly fine, limp hair that is impossibly straight, and whenever I want my hair to look even presentable, I have to use Aveda Volumizing Tonic for Fine to Medium Hair.  I have sought it out and absolutely depended on it for almost twenty years.  It changes the texture of my hair and adds instant volume, that stays in it until I wash it out.  No Aveda products are cheap, but if you are serious about volumizing your hair and want a consistent product, this is the one.  It has never damaged my hair, and has a clean, organic-sort of scent to it.  It lifts roots especially well when you spray it on them before you blow-dry your hair (it helps even more with your head upside-down).  I wish it came in a bigger bottle; because it doesn't I sometimes have to stock up.  Since Aveda products are only exclusively sold in Aveda salons or stores, it isn't always convenient for me to get it, so I stock up when I can.

This product is sooo amazing! It's affordable and lasts for such a long time! I use mine about 2-3 times a week and I've had it for almost 7 months! And its only about 1/7 used. It gives my hair just the right amount of natural looking volume without making my hair all sticky or heavy.
