Pleasantly Surprised!

By

Comments about Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice:

I was so pleasantly surprised when I came across Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice a few months ago! While boiled rice isn't hard to make, it can be time consuming. In 3 minutes, you'll have nice fluffy rice! I was worried the rice would be hard or sticky, but it was perfectly cooked. It's great by itself or mixed into any possible dish you could think of. I wish I had stumbled upon this years ago!

Comments about Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice:

I can never make rice for some reason!  And then I found these packets of Jasmine rice from Trader Joe's that I only need to heat in the microwave.  It comes out smelling and tasting delicious.  It's fluffy and well cooked, not sticky and gross.  It's perfect and easy to add to any meal.  I always grab a couple boxes in the store.

East is east and West is west but this rice is the very best!

Comments about Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice:

Sometimes we tend to under-estimate the simple things in life ... for instance, ***Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice***.  I was so excited about buying jasmine rice that I wasted little time tearing the package open when I got home and staring at it eagerly.  I was more than a little disappointed to see nothing but three pouches of white rice.  "Big deal!" I thought with disgust but with the first mouthful, I realized that it was indeed a VERY big deal.

***Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice*** is "*grown in the valleys of Northern Thailand on farms with fertile soil and natural rain water.  This is a premium, organic product grown with intensive care*."  The important thing to remember is that this rice is absolutely **delicious** -- the best white rice you could possibly imagine -- fresh, fluffy, soft but chewy, and as white and pure as new snow.  Easy to fix too ... just cut a 1/4 inch slit in one corner of the pouch and "nuke" for three minutes to end up with a dish which gives steamed white rice a whole new definition of quality.

**STATS:**

There are three plastic pouches in the box.  Each pouch contains two one-cup servings with each serving delivering 180 calories with only five calories from fat.  There is one half gram Total Fat, zero each Saturated and Trans Fat, Cholesterol, Sodium and Sugars, 40 grams Total Carbs, less than one gram Dietary Fiber, three grams Protein, 2% (D.V.) Calcium and 10% Iron.

**TASTE TIP:**

***Trader Joe's Organic Jasmine Rice*** is so great, I could eat a serving of it just plain.  It is also a perfect foundation for Oriental or stir-fry foods or fish dishes such as the *[Salmon Mojito][1] * which I also bought at T.J.'s.  One night I had a yen for a helping of this organic jasmine rice but was out of everything to go with it so I used it as a substitute for a serving of spaghetti.  Heaped a cup of the rice on a microwave-proof plate, topped with *[Prego Chunky Garden Sauce][2] * and a healthy sprinkling of fresh grated parmesan cheese, then "nuked" the plate a minute or so to heat the sauce and melt the cheese.  East is east and West is west but in this case, Italian and Oriental cuisines partnered up beautifully.
