read full review »First of all, I wanted to preface my review by explaining my sound bite. Not that I'm an alcoholic but I chose to imbibe 2 or 3 days a week and when I do, I usually drink at least 6 beers. According to Wikipedia, binge drinking is, "For a typical adult, this pattern corresponds to consuming 5 or more drinks (male), or 4 or more drinks (female), in about 1-3 hours". My defense is that I weigh around 215 pounds, maintain above average cardiovascular fitness so therefore my tolarance and rate of alcohol oxidation puts my inebriation level at about 12 drinks in 3 hours. read full review »Sam Adams is one of those breweries I look for when I need an inexpensive, refreshing beer. The Boston Lager pours as an amber/copper color with a relatively good, long head. The smell has a light molasses hint mixed with what I could best describe as burnt apple. is crisp with a medium to light body and a fair amount of hoppiness. There is a slight citrus flavor, perhaps orange, and a hint of clove. This is a pretty typical lager, with a malty start, but a surprisingly hoppy finish.
