Has anyone NOT received one of these for a wedding gift? I received mine as a wedding gift from my in-laws and used the heck out of it as a new bride and even more as a new mom. I don't know how many meals I made with that original crock pot, but it was a lot! Cooking Performance I never had anything not come out good in this crock pot, my husband was really picky and everything had to be fork tender, fall of the bones kind of meals, so this was perfect. Ease of Cleaning My original crock pot did not have the removable crock which I did not really care for, and it was ultimately the demise of this pot, since when kids were old enough to wash, someone submerged the whole unit in the dishwater. Ease of Use You almost can't go wrong, just dump stuff in, turn it on and let it do it's thing. Design Simple yet functional, there is not a whole lot of extra stuff you can add to a crock pot! Durability Like I said above, this lasted a long time, until it got waterlogged!

I had this crock pot for quite some time. It worked very well, I never had any problems with it cooking food thoroughly. It heats up pretty quickly and I think it heats up evenly. Is large enough to accommodate a large roast, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, a can of soup and some broth as well. Making a pot roast was probably the largest meal I ever attempted in this slow cooker and I never had any issue with all the food items cooking all the way through. Even though I would pack it until the mushrooms were touching the lid, which directions on just about all slow cookers warn against, it still worked beautifully. The only problem I had had with this crock pot was that after a couple years one of the handles cracked and then broke off completely. The slow cooker itself was still useable but it was kind of a pain to move it once it was hot. Even just scooting it on the counter was kind of difficult. Design The design is OK. it's not the best but its ok. Personally I'm not a huge fan of the vines they're kind of blah but I guess that's not a huge deal. Durability Handle broke : ( though I must say it took almost ten years to do so, so I suppose that's still fairly durable.

We just out grew the 3.5 quart crock pot and this 6 quarts is perfect for a family of 5 (3 hungry boys) Time to Heat heats up very fast and stays at that temp Cooking Performance Does not over heat the food and burn the bottom - heats very evenly. Ease of Cleaning bowl comes out and can soak with no problem - sides clean up with just a little elbow grease. Ease of Use only has 2 settings - can't screw that up. Design would like a middle heat setting for when the recipe has different heating times and you need it. Durability 3 years and still going strong

This Rival crock pot was a wedding gift--hard to believe but already 9 years ago. I have use it often and it is still running great and looks great. It's got a lot of life left in it. I will throw in a frozen whole chicken, add 2 cups of water, turn it on to low and let it sit for 8-12 hours and it comes out tender and juicy every time. It is great to be able to get a meal together with such little fuss. I also make a lot of soups and stews and chowders, just throw in all the ingredients and let it cook. It gets the whole house smelling great. Perfect if you work all day. Throw in the ingredients before you leave and when you come home voila! The crock pot comes with a recipe book which is good for the basics, but the internet is a great source for lots of good recipes. This is good for budget-conscious folks also, make double or triple recipes and freeze the leftovers to save time and stress while making nutritous yummy meals.

Rival 6-Quart Slow Cooker is a kitchen must have. This slow cooker is amazing. I have had mine now for over 10 years. I use it all the time and it still deliver delicious meals. Even with all the usage it still looks new. The pot has endured many cleanings and no nicks or chips. Now thats one durable pot. I love the design of this slow cooker as it adds flair to our kitchen decor. The beauty of this slow cooker is so simplistic. Add your ingredients and several hours later your masterpiece emerges. How great is that! Cook it and serve it all in one pot. It doesn't get any better than that. If the day comes when my Rival 6 Quart Slow Cooker no longer works I will definitely purchase another one. It has been a faithful companion to my kitchen for the last 10 years and for that I give my highest compliments to Rival!

The Rival 6 quart slow cooker is one of the best slow cookers out there. Mine is older and I've had it for a pretty long time but it has held up very well. I don't have any damage to it eventhough it's been through 3 moves and countless mishaps. It's very durable and easy to clean. The inside dish just pops out so that you can easily wash it without having to worry about any electrical problems. Or you can even store left overs in the dish and just take it out and put it in the fridge. This is a great item for those days that you know you'll be too busy to cook or just don't feel like it. We cook roasts, pork chops, and all chilis and soups in this slow cooker. It makes the meat so tender and really helps the flavors to work in the chili. The dial is easy to understand to set it to what temperature you want. And then you 'set it and forget it'. Overall this is the best slow cooker I have used. It is a little on the heavy side but I think that's what makes it so durable. It's just so easy to use and clean, I can't imagine making chili without it.

Our Rival Stoneware Crock Pot has really stood the test of time. I believe we either received it as a wedding gift, or perhaps purchased it just after. We've now had it for over nine years, so I can't remember for sure. The crock has been very durable and chip resistant. It still looks great after all of this time. What I appreciate is the simplicity of using it. Off/Low/High, three simple settings that never confuse me : ) I have been able to leave food cooking for a number of hours while going off to work, which used to make me nervous, but we've had no problems with anything getting too hot or burning. Washing the stoneware crock is easy; it is even dishwasher safe. Since it is so big, we often choose to just wash it by hand, as it takes up a lot of space in the dishwasher. The outer cooking unit wipes clean very easily as well. The green vines that decorate the outside still look great after all of these years as well. I hope that I don't have to buy a new crock pot anytime soon, but if I do, it will definitely be another Rival.

Rival makes amazing crock pots! There is nothing better than throwing together some ingredients into a crock pot in the morning and in the evening it is a fantastic, hot meal! The only think I would recommend is this: Most recipes dont call for greasing the sides of the crock pot before adding ingredients for your meal. I would suggest buying the throw away crock pot liners so you dont have to soak and scrub the sides of the pot overnight to get the burnt food off. That is a pain. This crock pot is very durable and worth every penny! It is a little heavy, but all crock pots are. That is just a given. We use this at least three times per week. I am a stay at home mom that as a clingy son that makes it very hard to cook (since he is hanging on me constantly). This crock pot has made dinner possible on nights it wouldnt have happened any other way! Wonderful product and I definitely recommend it!
