Excellent quality

Love this blue tooth, the extended mike works great to allow others to hear you. The earpiece is a little finnicky to get to size to your ear canal properly, but it is what it is, everyone has different ears. I like the ease of use, connectivity, and even my non tech wife used very well!

I can finally hear the other caller!

5

I searched and searched for a Bluetooth headset that had louder volume output. Bought into the hype of the Jawbone, but ditched it after a week. Tried a Motorola, no dice. Went through a Jabra in-ear and a different Plantronics model, and still could not adequately hear the caller on the other end. As a daily commuter on the Bay Area freeways, I need to have a loud, reliable Bluetooth headset to make calls while in the car. I read reviews of the Plantronics Voyager 510 and was again skeptical of the claims that it was the loudest headset on the market, like all the others. I was able to get one on the cheap, so I figured I'd give one more headset a try. WOW. For the first time ever, I do not need to crank the volume up to max on the headset! I can hear over the freeway noise. The mic filters out the noise as well, so the caller on the other end isn't bombarded by the freeway either. The only downside is that the headset is big and ugly. It fully wraps around the ear, and it boasts a decent sized boom mic. As a hat and sunglass wearer, it does tend to get a little crowded on my ear, but it's a small price to pay for a Bluetooth headset that actually delivers!

The Plantronics Voyager 510 Headset is a poor product.

Where do I begin.  Plagues with issues from the very beginning I did not have a very pleasant experience with this headset.  First of all, anyone I ever talked to with this thing was ALWAYS asking me to repeat myself.  I rarely had a conversation where I didn't have to just turn the thing off and hold my phone to my head.  Additionally, it was constantly disconnecting from my phone, or was exceedingly difficult to get it to actually pair with my phone.  Was a MAJOR pain. Held a charge for about a whole day initially, but it wasn't long before I had to keep it plugged in or turned off all of the time to conserve the battery life.  Also was not compatible for just listening to music like other headsets (namely wired headsets) have been.  Works for phonecalls only.  You would think that having a nice wireless headset you could listen to music... wrong. In the end, I finally ended up trashing it and haven't looked back.  On top of that, I am pretty much stricktly using wired headsets to avoid the pain of bluetooth. I would not recommend this product.

great for safer driving

5

When i am in the car, i still have to take a lot of business calls and i do not like to hold my phone as i drive. This head set is good because it helps me to drive a lot safer. I also like how i am able to fasten it to my ear and it does not fall off. The head set has a really nice design because it does not make my calls fuzzy like other sets that i have used. The headset has bluetooth in it and that is great so that i can have it connect to my phone without the use of any wires. The size of this head set is very small and it is easy to move and travel with. The head set can work with a few different kinds of phones on the market. The caller on the other end is always able to hear my voice clearly when i speak through the head set.

Plantronics Voyager is great headset with good sound and comfort

5

The part that stands out most about this headset is how comfortable it sits around the ear, which more than makes up for the bulkiness of the form factor. There are several shapes of earbuds that are included - I found the round one with the point to be most comfortable. Additionally, the sound quality tends to be very good, although a few times I have had to switch to handset due to the other party not being able to hear well. It also keeps a charge for fairly long. Connecting to the phone is easy and reliable. It is a bit pricey and never seems to go on sale like the other headsets. Also, the blue/red light that signifies charging and power status is very bright and can be annoying in the evening.

Good headset, but surprised it costs so much still

I purchased this headset several years ago, and I am actually surprised that the price has not dropped much to this day.  That said, its possible that bluetooth headsets in general have not gotten much cheaper to manufacture. Anywho, this set is generally good.  I only have one complaint about it, which is battery life.  Although I understand it will not last forever, it simply does not last long enough to be convenient to use.  I only got about 2-3 hours of talk time before the battery goes out - which means a lot of charging.  Also, even if I turn it off and don't use it, the battery drains itself.  So it cannot be stored and used later.. it has to be kept charged.  Also, if I try to charge it and use it at the same time, the other person complains of a buzzing noise. The rest of it is good.  It is easy to set up and connect to my phone.  The call quality is very, very good.  It has a very high comfort level because the band is of good size and is made of good materials that feel great on your ear.  I have no problem wearing it for long periods of time.  The range is pretty good too, certainly what  I would expect from bluetooth, about 15-20 feet.

510 Bluetooth- Works as advertised

5

I am currently on my 3rd bluetooth headset.  My first two were both Motorola brands.  While I did not have any complaints with them, there was nothing great about them.  The sound quality was ok.  The Plantronics 510 bluetooth headset has been great!  The sound is very clear on both ends, and the battery life seems good as well.  I use it for both my car, and the office phone and have had no issues in either case.  My cell phone (Blackberry Bold) had no problems pairing up with the headset.  I typically charge the battery every 2-3 days and have had no issues with battery life.  People generally are very surprised that I am talking to them through a bluetooth headset, because usually headsets sound very muffled and far.  The earpiece is also very comfortable and I easily leave the unit on during long drives without issue. The microphone is adjustable and seems to filter out background noise. Overall, I have no complaints with this unit and would recommend it.

Plantronics did great with this one!

I got this a few years back when the law required it in California.  The wind resistence actually works better than the old one I had.  I drive a convertible and the party on the other end of the call can hear me better than before with my old Jabra set.  I even use this while out on the sail boat if talking to the office while blowing off an afternoon of work.  It is simple to use, had a long charge hold time and is very comfortable to wear.  Heck, I often forget I got it on.  I keep it near me all the time and prefer to have hands free conversations with it while at home, too.  I got spoiled and used to talking hands free at the office with my CS50 unit and now that I have this bluetooth headset, I can not remember the last time I have actually held a telephone receiver.  Replacement ear pieces and wind guards are available at amazon for about 6 bucks...but my big concern is that eventually the battery will no longer charge and it is not replaceable.  I have had this for over two years and it still works fine, so a great value to me.

Very easy to use!

I received this headset from my son last Mother's Day and it has been reliable, easy to use and a great help, particularly  when I am on the road.  I had absolutely no trouble synching it up with my cell phone and it has worked very reliably every single time I use it.  It is lightweight, fits my ear very well and seems to have a great battery life.  I use it regularly and it seems to hold a charge for quite a long time.  I like the small size--if i want to take it off and drop it in a jacket or slacks pocket, it is so small it is undetectable.  I wondered how well it would work, being so small and away from my mouth but it has never caused a problem.  With the small size, I also find my hair covers it and it isn't so obvious--I don't look like the old time telephone operator! The buttons are a little small, fine for me but I don't know if a man with large fingers would have difficulty working some of the features.

Thank You Plantronics for an Outstanding Bluetooth Headset

***Bottom-Line***: The **Voyager 510**'s fold-up microphone design cleverly combines compactness with functionality for a novel, well-engineered and well-implemented package. Question: what is a Bluetooth enabled smart-phone or two without a great Bluetooth headset to accompany it or them?  Incomplete, I'd say, and lonely.  After receiving my new Bluetooth enabled Motorola Moto Q 9h I went searching for the perfect Bluetooth headset to complement it and my existing BlackBerry 8830 World phone.  Since I carry both phones at the same time, I needed a Bluetooth headset that could connect to two phones at once.  Enter the **Plantronics Voyager 510**.     The **Voyager 510** is an unusually shaped headset.  But, the small microphone/headset weighs less then 3 oz's, and is so light I often forget it is attached to my ear even after hours of wearing it.  The form-fitting ear-clip is fashioned with a soft rubber coating that makes it easy to slip the **Voyager 510** over either ear even with glasses on.  The battery compartment of the headset makes it look as though it would be tough to wear, but that is not the case.  **Sound Quality** The sound quality of the **Voyager 510** headset is stellar.  I have not had those problems hearing the other party and I can hear just fine even at highway speeds in excess of 70 miles an hour.  This despite the fact that my *Ford Freestyle* is not the quietest beast speeds in excess of 65 miles per hour.  Since the** Voyager 510** does have a boom microphone I was quite confident that I could make myself heard without shouting into the microphone; I was right.  Overall, I have not had any complaints from the people I call.  I make sure I speak in a nice auditable tone and I have been told that it as if I were speaking directly into the phone.  **Pairing** Pairing, the process of getting the headset to "speak" to a desired phone, or phones; the process is clearly documented in the quick reference guide.  The **Voyager 510** is fitted with Windsmart Technology that allows you to seamlessly switch between two Bluetooth devices. This is the primary reason I bought this Bluetooth headset and I have not been disappointed in its functionality; so far it works flawlessly.  **MyViewpoint** Small, extremely lightweight, attractive, and functional, the **Voyager 510** fits my modest needs, and does it in style. The **Voyager 510**'s fold-up microphone design cleverly combines compactness with functionality for a novel, well-engineered and well-implemented package.
