I first bought the Pampered Chef Jar Opener thinking it would help me a lot because I have such sore bad wrists (arthritis and wrist surgery have not helped!) and I have a really hard time opening jars!!  Well, the first few years I had this, when I remembered, I did use this item and I enjoyed having it to open things that I could not have otherwise opened myself.  BUT, now I use it ALL THE TIME!!  My daughter actually uses it the most of anyone!!  It has helped her so much to feel more independent!  She sawe me one day using it to open something and the next time she needed to open something...she went right to the drawer and used it!  My daughter (who is six years old by the way) now uses it for everything from pickles jars to opening a bottle of sprite!  Now, when she sees me trying to open something, she runs to the drawer and grabs the jar opener and asks if she can open it for me!!!  And she usually can open it!!  Great idea!  And of course wonderful for all ages!!  Highly recommend!!

The jar opener is a white "Y" shape with the top being solid and the grippers sitting at the base of the V section.     I used this product unattached to the cabinet and it did "ok" working some of the time and I thought it would be nice for it to be attached under the cabinet, saving me drawer space.  Only once it was attached I could barely get anything unlidded.  The items that did open ended up spilling because of the pressure needed to push it into the grips.   I feel it should have some sort of clamping closing device for it to work properly.   Anyway, I went back to using the rubber lid openers.  I want everyone to know that I do not use it for pickles and that sort of jar, for me it's the juice lids, and this could be why it doesn't grip.

    Easiest jar opener ever!

    By

    from USA

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

I really like (no, Love!) my Pampered Chef Jar Opener. I use to use those round gripper things, but I still had to put some oomph into opening the jars. And if your wrists or hands are bad it's still too hard to open jars with the gripper. This PC opener is great because you don't have to squeeze with your hands. It fits all sizes of jars and bottles, and I have never met one yet that I couldn't open with this handy gadget!

    Ease of Cleaning
Dishwasher safe. Though I rarely need to wash it as it opens jars without any mess.

    Durability
I have owned mine for more than 5 years and it still looks like new. I would say this opener will last a very long time.

    Design
The opener is designed in a "V" shape with metal teeth on the inside of the "V" all the way to the inner point allowing you to use this tool on almost any size jar or bottle. The teeth are what grip the jar lid as you push the handle away from you while holding onto the jar with your other hand.

    great product for any kitchen

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

The pampered chef jar opener is great for lids and jars of most sizes; it adjusts to fit up to three and a half inches wide. It has a soft grip that makes using the jar opener easy and enjoyable to use.

The easy grip technology makes it easier to open stubborn and difficult jars.

    Ease of Cleaning
The pampered chef easy can opener is easy to use. If there is anything to clean, i simply use a warm damp cloth to wipe any spills. This product is not recommended for dishwasher use.

    Durability
This product is very durable. It is constructed to last a long time; I have had mine for several years and never had any issues with the jar opener not working or having to replace this object.

    Design
Based on how long the pampered chef jar opener has lasted me, how often I have used it, and how easy it is to use, i feel it is designed well. I would recommend it to any one who is looking to purchase a jar opener for their kitchen.

    Great for those with arthritis!

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

My mom has bad arthritis in her hands and really struggles with the simple task of opening a jar. I got her the Pampered Chef jar opener and it has made this task so much easier for her. It adjusts to fit different size jars and on the other side, you can also open small items such as 2 liter bottles. It's dishwasher safe and holds up well, too. Great product!

    A MUST for every kitchen!

    By

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

I have had this opener for several years and use it often. I am a single lady and often had problems opening jars. I would end up hurting my wrist or waiting for someone else to help me open things. What a hassle. I purchased this in hopes that it would really work....and it does!!!!
I gave one as a gift to my Mom and Dad for Christmas a few years ago. They BOTH love this and use it often. In fact, my Mom told me the other night that this is the best, most used gift they have received in many years! Wow, who knew it would be a jar opener!
This opener works every time, is lightweight and a must for every kitchen. You will not be disappointed with this investment!

One of the best inventions ever!

    By

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

I use this on all types of jars and I think it is one of the best inventions ever made! I open all size jars with mine. I do not have mine attached to the unside of the cabinet. As someone with health problems and limited strength in their hands this has been a blessing to me. I highly recommend this product for yourself and as gifts, especially for those with difficulty opening any size jars. The rubber grips are long in the trash!

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

We all know that there are at least a thousand gadgets out there for openning jars. Some don't work at all, some work on a few sizes. I've had this one for a couple of years now, and it works.

I am a rather pettite woman who often struggled with getting things open. I hated the times when I just could not get something to open and would have to wait for hubby to get home before proceeding. Other times, I resorted to the can opener on the bottom trick with many broken jars.

Then, my mother gave me this one as a gift. She said that I would not be able to live without it once I tried it. She was right! Even the most stubborn jars open up with a bit of grip. This might not work for a senior citizen with grasping problems as it does still require some amount of hand strength, but for most folks, I think it would work just fine.

I like that it can work on even the tiny size bottles (like hot sauce) where you often can not get a good grip with other openers.

          Can't do without it!

Comments about Pampered Chef Jar Opener:

I admit I'm not a 21 year old newlywed anymore, and for the last few years I've noticed that my hand strength is not what it used to be so I've had a problem opening jar lids.  This problem was getting worse until my daughter gave me the most wonderful gift I've every received for the kitchen, which is an "under-the counter jar opener."  I think it can also be used by hand, but I like mine under the counter.  There hasn't been a jar that I was unable to open,  Thanks to Pampered Chef and their quality products
