About six years agoI found Melrose Home Collection 1000 Thread Count Queen Size 100% Cotton Sheets on sale at an outlet mall linen store. I bought one white set, took them home, washed and dried them and put them on my bed. I was so impressed with them that I made the 150 mile round trip back to the outlet mall the next weekend and bought the two remaining sets - one white and one ivory. I am still using the first set and keeping the other two sets for when (if) the first set wears out. After six years of being slept on almost every night and hundreds of trips through the wash, they are as soft and smooth as the day they came out of the package. The sheets are thick but they are neither heavy nor hot. I am not sure how it is possible but they seem to be a little warmer in the winter and a little cooler in the summer. Maybe that actually has more to do with the indoor temperature than the sheets but I never noticed that with the 600 count sheets I had before. These sheets are smooth and soft and amazingly comfortable - far more comfortable than some sheets I have slept on in five star hotels. The fitted bottom sheet has elastic all the way around, not just on the corners or at the head and foot. I have a fourteen inch thick innerspring mattress and the fitted sheet stays perfectly in place. It does not shift or slide and the corners do not crawl up - even when a grandchild tries to use my bed as a trampoline. The top sheet is slightly larger than a standard queen flat sheet, providing sufficient drape on both sides and enough tuck at the foot to hold the sheet in place even if you are a fretful sleeper. These sheets are the best I have ever had and I don't think any other sheet will ever tempt me now that I have experienced perfection.
