For discerning users who care a great deal about the peripherals they use, choosing a keyboard boils down to feel and preference.  I'm a fan of low profile keys (laptop-style) because of their sound and feel - I always feel like I'm typing faster on that style of keyboard - so the Logitech Illuminated keyboard is perfect.  Its keys are just the right height/depth, and the feel is very good.  It also has some great multimedia functionality that makes it easy to start/stop music in iTunes or Windows Media Player.  The price tag is certainly high, but for me it's absolutely worth it.

WOW! Where do I start? I can't believe that I almost passed this keyboard up for a different one...that would have been a HUGE mistake! I have a Dell Computer, running on Windows Vista, and I have had many different kinds of keyboards through the years... I almost passed on this because a few people mentioned that the keyboard is more "laptop like" and I have a desktop, and now that I have the keyboard, I say... What in the world are they thinking, it may not be big and bulky, but I'm telling you that it is absolutely PERFECT in EVERY way! There is nothing more that I could want from a keyboard! First of all, when it arrived, I was impressed with the packaging of this product by Logitech, wow, it made me feel like I was really getting the royal treatment just opening it up! Then I noticed how solid it is, and heavy for a keyboard, it isn't going anywhere, no sliding around on my desk that's for sure! I popped in the Disc in my computer tower and in seconds it was ready to go, I've never had an easier time setting up a keyboard and mouse before...By the way, I purchased the Logitech MX Revolution Wireless Mouse with this wired Keyboard, and the installation of that was just as easy. I almost purchased the Revolution Keyboard with the same mouse, but I work alot in the dark after my husband has gone to bed and I don't want to wake him, so I would have to say that the main reason I bought this keyboard is because it is illuminated perfectly, It has never been easier to work in the dark, each and every key on the board is lit up in white, not hard on the eyes at all, and the top row is mostly in orange. Since the light shines up through the letters and numbers on the keys, it is absolutely the easiest to read with no difficulty at all! It also irritates me when the white paint on the letters would start wearing off my previous keyboards, this isn't likely to happen on this keyboard because this one is done with a laser. Also, it IS EXTREMELY quiet, I have never had a quieter keyboard, which is also important because I was always irritating my husband with all the clickety clacking of the previous keyboards when he was trying to sleep. I am so glad that I just happened to stumble across this keyboard while studying up on countless keyboards, I didn't even know that Logitech put out an illuminated keyboard. I have spent more money on keyboards than I care to think about, but this one I believe I will have around for a good long time. It is very solidly constructed and even though I was very hesitant to purchase this one, I just told myself, I'll return it if I don't like it, but to my delight, I am so happy that I chose this one, I would not return this one if they offered me double the money to give it back...I am so glad that I took a chance on this one!
