Best Value Plasma

5

I've owned this LG television for a bit over a year now, and I am very happy with it. There are no major complaints about it. The picture quality is reasonably good along with the sound quality. The HDMI and component inputs make the television easy to install with any home theater or gaming set up. I am very fond of the swiveling base to the TV, which makes it easy to go from lounging on the couch to watching TV at the table with family or friends. I also like the energy saving features in this television, such as the power saving "All off" mode over a simple standby mode. The main selling point was the price though, which was a good value when compared to comparable plasmas in the buyer's market. As most television sales men will tell you, the picture quality reflects the amount paid for the set, but I feel in this television, the bargain price was no indicator to the great picture quality when installed with a high definition set up. All considered, this was a good purchase, well worth the price.

Life is good and I love my LG Home Theater!    LG 50PG20 50 in. HDTV Plasma TV -  The **LG 50PG20 50 inch Plasma HDTV **flat panel television provides a theather-like experience and home and looks great in the room.   The LG 50PG20 is great for watching Cable, HDTV, DVD's, network channels, old movies or just whatever the owner likes to watch.     As compared to other TV's in its class, this is one of the better ones on the market when compared to qualify, picture, and sound.  However, LG is typically priced a little higher than some in its class but is a great value for the money.  There are deals that can be found that makes the LD competitively priced.  The high-resolution, wide screen makes viewing the TV very enjoyable from any angle in the room.   One of the things that really sets this television apart from a lot of others on the market (in my opinion) is the extremely impressive resolution.  The LG companioned with the Blu-Ray player simply enhances the home theater experience.

This LG is a Superb Plasma HDTV that Gives a Theater Experience

The **LG 50PG20 50 inch Plasma HDTV **is a flat panel television that not only sets off a room, but gives a movie-like experiences to any room in the house.  The LG 50PG20 is one of those television sets that seems like its more than a mere television set, and one which is a treat to use, whether it is watching a movie, or just tuning into the latest news broadcast.  The set of course is a high definition television and is the one of the better that is out on the market which takes advantage of the DTV system.  It's wide screen, has a high-resolution video image, and gives off some of the best quality sound that I have heard from a television set. One of the things that really sets this television apart from a lot of others on the market (in my opinion) is the extremely impressive resolution.  1365 x 769 is the resolution output that this HDTV gives its viewers, and it really the great picture quality that you are paying for with the slightly high price tag.  If you hook this Plasma television up to a Blu-Ray player, you are going to come away extremely impressed not only with the film-like quality of the picture, but the sound quality that even the built-in speakers give to you as an audience member.  It is a 720p television, so not quite as good as some models that advertise 1080p, but don't worry about that too much, because the lower price offers affordability along with all the specific amenities that LG gives with its products. This isn't at the top of the line when it comes to HDTV's, but this is one that I feel is very acceptable, and incrementally better than the normal television sets that we have all had living in our living rooms and bedrooms.  Some of the specs associated with the TV are that it has a 16:9 wide-screen aspect ration, a dual XD image processing engine, 7 picture selection modes from which to choose the best viewing (sports, outdoors, etc.), and the 2-way built-in 20W speakers that really accentuate the television quite well.  There aren't shadows to the images of people, there aren't ghosts on the screen, and voices are quite clear when characters are speaking.  The set has many ports to hook up external devices as well, and even comes with a USB port to hook up your digital devices.  The **LG 50PG20 50 inch Plasma HDTV **is just simply one of those great toys, that once it is in place, is something you don't understand how you lived without.  It takes television viewing to a new level if it is your first plasma or HD capable television, and makes watching TV a new experience in itself.  This is a highly recommended television, and if you are in the market for a flat panel that doesn't take up the whole living room, this is a great way to go.

Nice Plasma TV. Beginner model.

This is my first plasma tv. I like the LG 50PG20. This is the lowest model that LG makes in the 50 in but I am satisfied so far. I have had this tv for only a month. No problems so far. I notice in the first minute that the color pixels in the tv need to clear and calibrate. When you first cut on the tv you can tell that the image look cartoonish, but they clear up. The black colors are not all that great. I bought this tv at bestbuy for 999. it is a 720p. It is great for tv, which is broadcasted in 480i. only the equipment that is able to run 1080p is a blu ray player, xbox360, ps3, or upgrade hdtv box, dont have to waste your money on 1080p. This model uses a lot of energy but is still considered a energystar. The volume is not at all great. No flat screen is. they come with 2 20watt speakers. there is anti glare protection. viewing angles are great. no burn in spots yet.

Nice TV, nice size. Stable build. Nice picture with minimally grainularity. Poor sound but who needs it with surround systems. Easy to use remote. Many additional inputs. Multiple aspect ratios for watching different broadcasts & recordings. Great TV for the need & cost.

**LG has simply made one of the better plasma tvs out there today. Its sleek design makes it great for any home decor. But lets not forget what the tv is about, the picture quality.I personally would reccomend the tv for anyone to use.it comes in 720p 1080p and 1080i with about a 300-500 difference in pricing. With 7 different picture modes you can surely find whats right for you.In overall aspects the quality of the picture is standard for plasma tvs.Nothing tends to stand out more than anyother in picture quality. It also has 6 different sound modes to choose from.Though in itself the tv is not at all loud, but loud enough to be heard for what you need to hear. The LG has 3 hdmi ports,2 components,2 av,1 s-video,1 pc,1usb and antenna in ports as well for all your needs. When looking for a plasma tv be sure to keep the LG plamsa in mind.Im sure you'll love it as much as i do**
