Gardener's Supply 50' Coiling Garden Hose Review Summary

The idea is great say home gardeners - a hose that rolls itself up instead of snaking across the yard for all the world to see if you don't take the time to wrap it up every time you water. While a few reviewers found the Gardener's Coiling Hose is "just the thing," most were quite disappointed in what they thought and hoped would be the perfect garden hose. Problems noted were that the hose tangles up like a Slinky, it wraps around and pulls up plants, and it's too narrow to build the pressure needed to use it with a sprinkler.

I just love my coiling hose. My mother had it first and couldn't stand it, I think she was trying to pull it to far into the yard. Oh my gosh! it just perfect for me. We have a tall deck from a two story home with a basement. It was always a hassle trying to water my many pots of flowers. My Mr. Fix-it husband brought the water turn on spout to the top of the deck. We attached the coil hose & perfect now I can water the deck & even go into the sunroom. I hate the look of hoses in front of my house. I thought this would be a great alternative. Looks good at first - but after I stretched it to water the flowers by the mailbox a few times - it lost all its coil and became a tangled slinky! — I tried to use it with a sprinkler to water the grass - WHOOPS! the hose is too narrow to get enough pressure to make the sprinkler work - so I need the regular hose for the sprinkler. This is a super solution when installed in a permanent location where low water volume is adeiquate for the immediate area. I use it at the front of the house to water plants with a wand and rinse off the patio steps and windows. It is ease to pull out and recoils easily on its own without the use of a hose reel or hanger. These hoses are great if you do not have to manuever around plants to get to the faucet. They will take down and take out anything in their way.
