When I saw this I knew it would be the perfect alternative to grilling for parties! Sometimes I just don't want to get out the grill, and sometimes grilling is just not feasible. The day after I purchased this, never having tried it out, I brought it with me to a weekend gathering at a lake cabin. There was no grill there and no air conditioning either so I figured this would be a great alternative to roasting myself and the hot dogs over a burner on the stove. I was thrilled when I discovered that this holds up to 12 hot dogs and their buns. The hot dogs steam on the bottom and the buns warm on the top staying soft and lovely. I just popped everything in the steamer and let it do its thing while we set the picnic table. By the time the table was set everything was perfectly steamed. We each enjoyed two yummy hot dogs with soft, beautiful buns for dinner that night and the next. While I don't use this often it is definitely on my must pack list for when I go to the lake cabin or spend time at a hotel or timeshare with a kitchen when I know I'll be making dinner.
