I really do not know how many of you remember eating the Cherry Mash when you were growing up but I do.  I guess that really shows my "young" age.  I remember them to be one of the treats a kid could eat.  They had that nice bright pink cherry filling with chocolate and nuts surrounding it on the outside.  Well, GUESS WHAT??  You can still find them through a Vermont catalog.  I volunteer at my church's temple and was out from December 23 through February 10.  As a celebration welcoming me back one of the matron's ordered a box so she, Robynn (my Friday companion) and I could enjoy together.  We have been reminiscing about the type of candy we enjoyed as children and, of course, Cherry Mash was mentioned.  So this past Friday we had one each.  Guess what???  It did not taste as great as we remembered.  The filling is still a bright pink cherry flavor but oh so sickening sweet.  The outside is like eating wax and also very sweet.  Yes, it is very DRY DRY DRY>  So I think I have officially had my last Cherry Mash.  By the way, on the package there are two recipes:  Cherry Mash Milk Shake and Cherry Mash Sundae.  If anyone reading this review and you try one of these recipes, please let me know.
