Most HelpfulI love my Brother 1034D serger. When I first fell in love with sergers I did some research and decided I KNEW I wanted a free arm and a differential feed and the ablility to use decorative threads - BUT- I did not have thousands of dollars to learn with. Brother made it possible for me to have it all and it has been 2 years now and I have made LOTS of lounge pants and tee shirts and pillowcases and aprons for my family for Christmas presents. They all have a nice professional finish . I have only had problems two times and it turned out that it was MY fault and I had to research the tension -...
review »This machine is very easy to use. It has clear markings to route the thread. It cuts and overlocks with a professional finish. I like the 4 thread overlock vs. a 3 thread. it also can do a satin like finish and looks nice on childrens wear , or even in crafts. I used varagated thread on one baby blanket edging, and used multi colors on another edging on a recieving blanket. the thread does not get all entangled under the presser foot like the previous model i owned.
the machine is a good value, it is durable and reliable.
The Brother 1034D Serger, to me is one of the best serger on the market right now. Not only is it affordable, but it's easy to use. When you sew as much as I do you need a serger that can go the distance and keep up with you, a lot of times that means expense. I love the fact that this serger sews so well that you don't even need a 5 thread function, unless that is your preference.
If you want a quality serger for a reasonable price, then I recommend the Brother 1034D Serger, you won't regret it!!!
I wanted a serger and found this one on a clearance shelf. VERY happy with my purchase. For a first serger, this one is easy to use, thread, learn on.
Sometimes a bit difficult to thread, but using the long tweezers helps with the problem.
Comes with learning CD's and general use CD's.
