Most HelpfulI have have had asthma since I was 14 years old. I had several surgeries in a short period of time and the trauma of all of that has been attributed as the cause of my teenaged-onset of asthma. Over the past 15 years it has progressively grown worse and is now classified as moderate to severe by...

Most HelpfulI was diagnosed as having Reactive Airway Syndrome and Exercise Induced asthma a couple of years back. My asthma now reacts to the changes in the weather and different smells, like the mint in my toothpaste!
I was prescribed Advair, rescue inhalers, and a nebulizer with Pulmicort and Xenopex. I couldn't ...
review »Boy, it's nice not to worry about where your next breath's coming from!
After going through various inhalers, Singulair, and other products, my doctor gave me a sample of the powder inhaler in the purple disk -- Advair Diskus 250. The 250 refers to 250 mcg fluticasone propionate (also found in the drug Flovent) and 50 mcg salmeterol inhalation powder (found in the older drug Serevent). Advair also comes in 150 and 500 dosages. Inhalations are recommended at 12 hour intervals (one each time) for any of these packs.
As a Tender Flower, I find that the nightly inhalation is often enough for...
review »All I need is the air that I breathe........
Hello, asthma sufferers. I join your ranks a few times a year, when allergies or stress push me over the edge. I used to occasionally struggle to breathe during a vigorous game of tennis. Lately I haven't had as many problems, but one thing I know for sure. ADVAIR IS THE WAY TO GO IF YOU HAVE ASTHMA.
It really, really works!
Advair is a preventive drug, so you use it in the morning, or prior to wahtever activity usually aggravates your asthma. One quick puff and you're done. Each purple discus has 60 applications. When I...
Advair has been a true life saver to me. Before it was introduced into my asthma fight plan I was always wheezing, having asthma attacks, or in the hospital more often than not. Advair has truly improved the quality of my life as it has helped put my asthma under control. As being an asthmatic for 25+ years when a medication as this can do what it does and control asthma the way it does I am one who can appreciate it. I use it twice a day when I take my other meds as you should rinse after using it, but I have never had problem all the time I have used it. From not being able to walk across the...
review »I have COPD and I use an inhaler, but it does'nt do much. Once the Dr prescribed the Advair Diskus I had wonderful improvement and don't use the inhaler very much if ever. Only having to use it twice a day is great. I just keep it in the bathroom so I take when I get up and before I go to sleep.
If your breathing is a problem talk to your doctor about Advair
I was perscribed Advair a few years back to help get my asthma under control. It really did work well for that and I was able to get my asthma back on track nearly immediately after starting it. But after doing a little research I found that all Advair is, is Serevent and Flovent which are two commonly perscribed steroid inhalers mixed together in a powdered inhalant.
My insurance was greedy and would not cover Advair, they would only cover the inhalers sepreately so they could get 2 co-pays from me.
Another downfall for me personally was the steroids made me very anxious and nervous constantly...
review »as most people hate to take medicine, i am one of those. i was having hard time breathing all the time, couldn't een play with the kids, so decided to finally go to the doctors. When i went she told me that i had astma. that explained a lot to me. so i asked what could i do, she told me to take this madicine, advair, twice daily to help coontrol my astma and to keep my inhaler with me incase of a sudden attack. i took advair about a week before i started noticing that i wasn't out of breath any more i could play with my kids with out stopping all the time. it has been 3 years since i started taking...
review »I received two sample products of Advair from my doctor, who said that by using Advair it would replace the two Asthma meds I using now-- Asmanex and Severvent Diskus. What my doctor didn't tell me was that Advair has a side effects like losing your voice and not being able to talk. I called my doctor's office in a very low and squeeky voice and told the office nurse what happened, the only advise I was given was to stop using Advair and to drink lots of fluids--juice, etc. On my next visit to my doctor, I returned the unopened Advair unit that I didn't use. He told me that 1 in 5 people...
review »I was first diagnosed with Asthma when I was 5 years old. I have been on practically every popular Asthma medication you can think of. Between pills, inhalers, nebulizer's you name it. I was first introduced to Advair in 2005, ever since then I consider this my lifeline for those who live with critical Athsma should have the same feeling.
Advair has allowed me to not worry so much about my rescue inhaler and start living my life. I would recommend this medication to anyone, oh and by the way I have not had a SINGLE side effect from this either.
The Advair Diskus is a godsend. I am unable to breathe without it, and I take it morning and night. I can't breathe when I wake up, and within a half hour of taking it, I'm good to go for the day. It's a great medication with minimal side effects, and I couldn't survive without it! It's easy to take, and I love it. The only problem is that without insurance, I wouldn't be able to afford it. It's a great thing, but should be cheaper for those unable to afford it. Breathing is a serious thing, and money shouldn't be an issue.
after trying many ways to help my breathing problem my DR suggested Advair. it is great twice a day and it has 2 medicines to help with my Copd its a life saver Hope many more will try to get the same relief i have been given. its not a replacement for fast acting inhalers its to be used on a rgular basis.. that way im in controll not copd in controll of my life
