I absolutely love Zanfel Poison Ivy Cream. My daughter has always been a bit of a tom-boy. Every summer she ends up with poison ivy that is so hard to treat. Before discovering Zanfel I had to take her to the Dr. several times, and once on vacation to an ER where she had an injection of Prednisone which I hated for her to have, but she had poison ivy covering her whole body, even her face. My sister told me to try Zanfel the following summer. As soon as she started showing signs of poison ivy, we used the cream as directed. Her itching subsided immediately, and within a few days there was no sign of a rash. In order for this to work properly you have to use it at the first signs of poison ivy. If you wait too long and the rash has spread, it is not as effective. I have learned to always keep this available for her. I feel so much better putting the topical cream on her than having her take steroids. I recommend this to anyone who suffers from poison ivy.

My kids have gotten poison ivy before. They never had bad cases of it, but enough to be annoying to them. I tried just about every product there is. Some burned upon application, some helped for a short time, others did nothing at all. This time my one son caught poison ivy that was mostly on his face and neck. He was extremely uncomfortable between the itching, swelling and the burning. He barely slept. He took a few oatmeal baths, used Calamine lotion and also oral Benadryl. The only thing that somewhat helped was the Benadryl, but barely more than 2 hours. So I took him to the doctor. It ended up being Poison Sumac. He prescribed a steroid but told us that although it will help alleviate the swelling it wouldn't help with the itchiness. He suggested Zanfel. He said it was pricey, but it worked well. At that point, my son was so uncomforable and I just couldn't stand him feeling so bad so I just didn't care about the price. I figured it would be worth the shot and if it didn't work, they got my money and just chalk it off as useless like the other remedies. Well, I was wrong doubting it's effectiveness. As he rubbed it on, within minutes he said he could feel the difference. I was thinking maybe it was power of suggestion. So I left him to rinse it off and I just waited. When he came out of the bathroom, you could see the relief on his face! He was thanking ME over and over again for getting it and how he had no stinging or itching anymore. His skin actually felt smooth, too, where right before application it was scaly. I was really happy. He asked me if he should take some Benadryl before bed just in case it wore off. I told him to wait and see. Well, he zonked out for the entire night. He really needed the rest! Anyway, I don't know if it works like this for everyone, but it truly helped my son. I am actually going to by a couple more tubes just to have on hand. With 4 boys, its bound to happen again! Anyway, I absolutely love this product! I just wish it wasn't so pricey! But in the end, it doesn't matter if it gets your babies better quick!!
