Preserve the flavors of the Summer!
The Tilia Food Saver VAC 800 is the first and only food vacuum sealer I have experienced so far. I have been using it for a minimum of three years so far and it is still going strong. I have no experience with the vaccum container attachment thingie --only the traditional bag sealer. At this point, I have noticed that the built in cutting blade does not quite work like it used to, but a simple pair of scissors takes care of that easily enough. The device is easy to clean. I just remove and rinse the foam insert. Next, I dry and wipe down the interior drip area with one of those sanitizing wipes. This is really only critical after having sealed raw meats. The sealer does a pretty good job even with moist stuff. I have sealed entire steaks that were already submerged in a nice liquid marinade. The thing did pretty good. This summer, we bought a BUNCH of organic fruit when it was in season. Now we have yummy fruit for our yogurts to last us all winter long!
