We were given this camera as a gift and it is definitely of good quality. It has a 2000X digital zoom. If you are looking for something to record from afar (like on the field for a game of one of your kids) I would suggest another camera but it does a great job of capturing the moments of our 2 1/2 year old. It also stores up to 41 hours of footage and you can use a memory stick to transfer the files from the camera to the computer. It also has the ability to "quick" transfer footage to your computer with a USB but we did it wrong and almost lost all of our videos so I suggest backing up your files with either a memory stick or saving them to your desktop/laptop/external hardrive before trying out the quick transfer. Overall a good camera that takes quality video.
