I purchased this fantastic machine after my 36 year old Singer Touch n Sew was beyond reasonable repair. I looked around in stores and on the web for a replacement. I didn't want an electronic machine, I wanted a mechanical machine that is going to get the job done. This CG500 is the answer. It sews fast and strong. I've had it now for a little over 2 years and I'm just as happy as the day I bought it. I am a heavy sewer and sew several hours a day every day. This machine is exactly what Singer says...a workhorse. If you are looking for a basic machine (really who ever uses all those fancy stitches beyond trying them out for the first time) then this is the machine for you.
