Great diaper cover, especially for newborns

5

Love this diaper for newborns since it has the cut out for the umbilical stump. These are also great to because they are used for such a short time that it's great to pass along to another mom or sell to an expecting momma and recoup some of your cost. I purchased all mine used ( had 2 and used with Kissaluvs size0) then resold to pay for some of the next size up that we needed. Ease of Use The only annoying part of being an aplix (velcro) cover is that they can stick to each other in the wash. I don't believe that these have laundry tabs to help prevent that. I air dried and just separated when I noticed that they'd done that, but it can get annoying if you wash with diapers that you PUL. Leak Prevention These were great as a newborn diaper- as such, she was changed often and so I didn't notice much of a leak. These don't have gussets though which can help keep things contained. But still one of my favorite covers for newborns. Comfort My newborn never complained and I never noticed any red marks on her legs or waist. Absorbency These don't actually absorb anything- they are covers used for fitted diapers and THOSE are the diapers that absorb the waste. :)

Been using Proraps for years.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I don't think there were as many options in the cloth diapering world as there are now. In fact, it took me a while to learn about Proraps back then - and this is only a few years ago. However I was led to Proraps by the owner of a diaper service who sold and recommended them. We bought four size small and two of the next size up. I have loved how simple the Proraps are to both remove and put back on baby. The prefold cloths we use fit well inside these covers and the whole assembly is very quick and easy. That saves a lot of time and effort when trying to diaper an infant. I also was very pleased with the price of these covers. They tend to be muh lower than other covers. They work well, are easy to use, and cost less. Now we are on our second child and using these same covers again. They are durable and just as good as when they were new, although they have been washed hundreds of times - literally!

Proraps are good newborn covers

My baby was 8 lbs at birth and fit perfectly in the prorap newborn from the first day we got home from the hospital. I really loved having that perfect fit right from the beginning and we did get about 1.5 months use out of them before going up to the small size. The umbilical cord notch is also very useful because my other covers would rub against it and I hated to see the cord stump get irritated. My complaints would be that they come in boring colors, I think I could only find white colored newborn sized ones. Also they don't have tabs so you can fold over in the wash so the velcro sticks to all the other diapers. They do hold up pretty well, and after you're done with the newborn size, you can sell them and get most of your money back. They are super affordable and you can get them directly from the company for cheaper sometimes if they have seconds available.

Proraps are kind of plain, but they get the job done!

We started out our cloth diapering journey with proraps simply because they are more affordably priced than similar covers and they last well.  The biggest disappointment is probably that  they look kind of institutional compared to all of the fun styles and colors available in other brands. That said, they work really, really well at containing things you might want contained in a diaper;)  The newborn size is cool because it is lower-cut in the front to accommodate a. the healing umbilical cord and b. the tinyness of a squirmy newborn. The Velcro catches on things around the house and in the wash but that is pretty standard for "Velcro" diaper closures in any brand/style.  They can wipe out easily for quick changes if there are no messy solids involved- we had to do that occasionally in the first days as we built our diaper stash- we just didn't own that many covers so it was nice to use them more than once before washing.  Hang drying doesn't take too long- these probably dried the fastest out of all the brands we have tried. By the time we got to smalls, we were looking with something with more stretch as our little one was fast becoming a big one- let's just say we started calling him our "butter baby".  I think they adjust and fit fine for standard sizes. I wish it was easier to choose which type of diaper to use in them.

Proraps are one of my favorites!

Prorap diaper covers are one of the best cloth diaper covers available.  They are my go to diaper cover and my favorite PUL cover.  The ones that I have are plain white, but you can get them in colors.  I like the white Proraps because they go with everything!  The reasons that I love Prorap diaper covers are numerous.  Here are a few of them.  I have found Prorap diaper covers to be virtually leakproof.  I don't have to worry about leaks or poo explosions with these because of the gussets around the legs.  I also like that I can use them for more than one diaper change.  If the inside is wet, I just wipe it out with a wipe and it's good to go!  I also love that they fit such a broad weight range.  I started with the mediums when my daughter was nine months old.  I didn't have to size up to the large until she was two and a half.  Even now she can still fit the medium, but it's a bit snug.  They are also one of the most affordable diaper covers.  You won't go broke with Proraps! There are a few drawbacks.  They don't have any cute prints.  I don't find this a big deal, but some might.  There are also no laundry tabs.  This is the biggest downfall to me.  I get around it by simply fastening the cover again before I wash it so the hook part is not exposed to get caught on other things in the wash.  Overall, I love Proraps and they make up the majority of my covers.

Boring, but leak proof

Proraps diaper covers are what we used for our son while he was wearing newborn sized diapers.  They worked absolutely great for holding in those poop explosions that newborns are famous for.  I must say, the plain old boring white is a drawback, as one of the many reasons that we use cloth diapers is that they are cuter than disposables. But since they are newborn diapers for such a short time, it didn't bother me too much.  These were very well made, with quality fabrics.  We used them for my older son, and now my second son has just outgrown them.  They worked well with all the different brands of fitted diapers we used.  I highly recommend the Proraps diaper covers for anyone who uses either prefold or fitted cloth diapers.  I have used different brands of diaper covers, and they would leak almost every time.  But I don't think I ever had one leak with the Proraps during all the time we were using them.

Very satisfied with Proraps covers

I have used Prorap Classic diaper covers in a variety of sizes and was pleased each time.  I first began using Prorap covers over prefolds using the newborn size.  They were soft against the skin and didn't leave marks on the baby's skin as many others did.  The leg gussets were great at holding in those newborn messes.  Also, the cutout for the umbilical cord was a big help.  I later used the medium and large Prorap covers over my MotherEase one sized fitted diapers.  They worked great once again.  The Cons:  They did seem to run a little small in size, so I would consider that when purchasing in the future.  Also, I had a heavy night time wetter and could not use the Prorap covers for night time use because they seemed to wick.  The Pros:  Prorap covers are great for families on a budget.  Also, the added buckle on the front, in addition to the velcro, are great for those kids who are a little too smart for their own good.

If you have nothing to compare Proraps to, you'll be fine

While pregnant with my third child I decided I would be cloth diapering. Fun, right?!  We are a single income family and I love to save!  I purchased some proraps for my newborn son thinking that for the price they would have to work and that if I didn't like them I could try something new the next size. They just didn't quite fit my son right around the legs and left gaps which resulted in many messy leaks.  He was seven and a half pounds at birth and stayed rather skinny during the time that these fit.  They seemed baggy in the crotch area as well, which didn't affect their abitlity to work. They do wash up nice, were easily wiped down and I really liked the notch for the newborns belly button. If you're not on a strict budget for your cloth diapering I would recommend choosing a different cover. Thirsties are very good for the price.  If your budget is less or you're just trying to cloth diaper for less, then Proraps will work.  Remember that all babies are shaped differently so you never know unless you try.  You could always try a couple different brands to find out what you like and what will fit your child the best.

Hands down best newborn cover!

The first review is quite understandable if you want to buy newborn covers expect them to be grown out of extremely quickly however I just bought size smalls and let my child wear sposies till the cord stump fell of ( appx 2 weeks) and by that time the smalls cinched down worked perfectly with plenty of room to go. These things are extremely inexpensive which means if you lose one you are not freaking out. They wipe down easily so you can reuse the cover a few times before it starts to stink so you get a lot of use out of 4-6 covers. They also have the leg gussetts which are a godsend because if you have explosive poopers like mine were in the beginning you wish you had a hefty bag to put on them so you don't paint your walls. But I digress.... I got the new ( well new 2 years ago) ProRaps covers which I got on the cheap from a vender who no longer wanted to sell diapers.. so awesome deals but my fav cloth diaper vendor at the moment is www.little-lions.com always got good deals going on especially in their prefold section but reasonable prices on these covers as well and you might as well bundle it and save some shipping :)

Lived up to Expectations

We already own a number of Fuzzi Bunz all-in-one cloth diapers, but I wanted re-stock our cloth diaper supply for Baby Number Two and was looking for other ways to do so without investing the money required for all-in-ones.  After a recommendation from a friend, I looked into these Proraps covers and some pre-folds.  We started with twelve pre-folds and three Proraps in newborn size.  The total was a fraction of the cost for a dozen all-in-ones. I was excited that, with the newborn size, our son fit into cloth diapers much earlier than he could with the Fuzzi Bunz.  However, he grew so quickly he also outgrew the covers before I even noticed.  I was a little disappointed that these covers had less ability to grow with him then he does with the Fuzzi Bunz - of which he still wears the small size and still has even more room to grow.  I am not sure how long he could have worn a larger size, but he only wore the newborn size for less than two months before we had to purchase the next size (at which point I decided to investigate another brand of covers). There was quite a bit of leakage with these covers, but I cannot say for certain if this was due to the cover being too small after awhile.  Also, we have grown quite accustomed to leakage with cloth diapers so we didn't think much of it.  The velcro on these were also easy to use and seemed to be quite durable. The great thing about using pre-folds with covers as opposed to all-in-ones is that as he wets a diaper, I need only to replace the diaper and can re-use the cover with a simple wipe-down, making for a smaller investment with the necessity of fewer covers (and the low-cost of pre-folds).
