Pepto Bismol found the answer for chronic indigestion

4

Pepto-Bismol chewable tablets came as a last resort for me.  I had indigestion and an upset stomach so I took Tums.  These always work for me so I took just one.  An hour later I still had the indigestion so took another one. Finally I felt so bad I just didn't know what to do.  I checked in the medicine cabinet and I had Pepto-Bismol Chewable Tablets.  I put one in my mouth and chewed it.  Oh, how I hated that Pepto-Bismol taste.  I remember that is why I don't have the liquid in the house anymore. I chewed it as fast as I could, and then sucked a mint to get rid of the taste.  Within an hour my indigestion and upset stomach had gone. These are also for heartburn, nausea, and diarrhea. I will keep them in the house for the worst kind of indigestion, but only use them as a last resort.  I just hate that medicinal taste and it makes me want to gag.  So if you can tolerate the taste of Pepto-Bismol, then these chewable tablets are great.

Works, Tastes ok, and fairly cheap

Pepto Bismal is great for upset stomach, indigestion, and diarrhea. Pepto Bismal works great, tastes ok, and is fairly cheap. I always seem to eat more than I should, or eat something I shouldn't have ate and I always seem to feel terrible. I find myself in the bathroom alot more than I should be. Pepto Bismal simply works. It helps me feel alot better and helps me get on with my life. It helps to relieve upset stomach, indigestion diarrhea. I also is fairly cheap. I believe that Pepto Bismal is much cheaper than most other brands. It is also chewable which also helps alot people that can't swallow things. The taste of this product is ok. It doesn't taste horrible, but it doesn't taste great either. It is certainly editable, but it is not a very pleasing taste in my own opinion. This product gets a 4/5 only because of the taste. If it tasted better this product would certainly get a 5/5. Overall great product. I would recommend this any family and friend.

I have always used pepto bismol for an upset stomache for years.  The claim that it will cure the diarrehea part I have found to be untrue.  The upset stomache feeling is no problem for pepto bismol.  I take pepto bismol and usually within the next thirty minutes to one hour I will feel much better.  I think if you have a serious bout with diarrehea the only thing that cures it quick is immodium ad.  It is used solely for diarrehea and does work very quickly and usually lasts almost all day long.  Of course that is not true with pepto bismol.  In fact, I have found that the only thing that pepto bismol does for diarrehea is slow it down a little bit.  It also turns your stool a real dark color.  They warn you on the bottle that this can happen.  Also people tend to drink a little bit of water after taking it, must be careful.  Whether it is in chewable tablet form or the liquid, drinking water with it will cause diarrehea.

Pepto Bismol, pink chaulky goodness!

Liquid Pepto Bismol is the one thing I always have in my fridge I don't know that it necessarily supposed to be refidgerated, but that's what my family did, growing up and now when I want pepto, I want it cold (I'm weirder than some but less weird than most). Anyways, since pepto works so well for my occasional stomach issues and the liquid stuff is so difficult to carry around with you, this an adequate alternative. I have a pack of these at my desk at work, for just in case times, when my stomach is upset at work. I've tried the swallow whole capsules too, but I feel like they don't give as immediate relief as these chewable tablets. The amount to about the same thing, but the chaulkiness seems to have an immediate settling affect on my upset tummy while the caplets seem to have an affect eventually. I would recommend this to a friend should it happen to come up in coversation, but I probably wouldn't offer the information, because that's akward....

For when you've had too much of a good thing!

The **good** news is that this is a wonderful time of year for indulging in fresh produce -- beautiful fruits and veggies galore.  If we aren't at the Farmers' Market loading up, we are plundering our favorite store ... and then there is always whatever bounty may be growing out in our own (or a friend's) backyard.  Summer is one big cornucopia packed with Nature's goodies which are beneficial to our pleasure and health but the **bad** news is that sometimes we tend to overdo a little.  Too much of even something good can cause problems, especially if it is highly acidic and rich in fiber as most fresh produce is. Add to that mix all the wonderful rich foods available at barbeques, picnics and food festivals and irritation of the digestive tract may not be far behind.  They have tried in vain to make amusing commercials about upset stomachs and resulting complications but I think most of us will agree that it's not really funny.  Fortunately for us, here's something else to chew on ... ***Pepto Bismol Upset Stomach Reliever/Antidiarrheal Original Chewable Tablets***.  Even those of us who could barely swallow the original Pepto Bismol liquid version can suck on these pleasant tasting pink tablets.  As they dissolve, the 262 mg. Bismuth Subsalicylate in each tablet swings into action, soothing our tender insides with amazing speed.  (Inactive ingredients include calcium carbonate, flavor, magnesium slearate, mannitol, povidone, red 27 aluminum lake, saccharin sodium and talc.)  The tablets are conveniently packaged and sealed in plastic in such a way that they are easily transportable and the perfect extra addition to picnic baskets or tote bags. **STATS:** Each tablet contains 140 mg. calcium, less than 1 mg. sodium, 102 mg. salicylate and is sugar free. **MY VIEWPOINTS:** As with most over-the-counter meds,  ***Pepto Bismol Upset Stomach Reliever/Antidiarrheal Original Chewable Tablets*** is still serious stuff and the information on the package is important.  Here again is the odd warning found on packaged aspirin about how children and teenagers recovering from chicken pox or flu should not be treated with this for fear of Reyes Syndrome complications.  Pregnant or nursing women should ask their physician before using.  I might also add my own warning here that this might be a good thing to keep out of the reach of children who might think it is candy and accidentally overdose.  As many parents know, kids will eat anything.  I stand here, living testimony to that because when I was three years old I tried to eat a half a bottle of aspirin!
