Plastic Ring Breaks After Only a Few Uses

1

On the third time using this, the plastic ring that holds the tip in place cracked and broke, making the decorator completely useless. I was simply decorating cupcakes with this- or trying to. It broke about halfway through. I checked into a replacement ring and it would cost $13, including shipping. How ridiculous, for a tiny ring of plastic.

Great for cake and cookie decorating

I go through phases where I like to decorates cakes and cupcakes, so during one of these phases I decided to buy the Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator. I really like how easy it is to use this accent decorator. In the past, I tried to use the plastic bags that you can put icing in, and they were impossible for me to write or decorate with. This makes it so easy to decorate cakes and cupcakes. You just put icing inside the clear tube, and place the tip design that you would like to use on the end of the decorator. There is a handle you can hold on the side of the decorator, and a plunger that you press down to push the icing out of the decorator. Ease of Cleaning This is surprisingly easy to clean. I just take the pieces apart and put it in the dishwasher-on the top shelf. I never had a problem with this causing anything on the decorator to break, and it always gets it completely clean. Durability This seems to be very durable. I put it through the dishwasher, and I keep it stored in a drawer with other kitchen utencils. I never had a problem with anything breaking on the decorator.

DIY possible

I'm all about Doing-It-Yourself. Don't get me wrong buying a cake for a special event is so convenient however, cakes from bakeries can be expensive and don't always taste that great. With this decorator from Pampered Chef, you can use your own homemade cake and yet be able to decorate it like a professional. This tool can also be used for "filling" purposes such as: cream filled puffs, jelly filled desserts, or even filling deviled eggs. I was a bit leery of the price at first due to me not knowing how much I would use the decorator. I have used this for many events, birthdays and family holidays. This is even great for making "cupcake cakes." This Pampered Chef product makes DIY-ing possible! Ease of Cleaning Surprisingly this product is dishwasher safe. I wouldn't suggest washing it any other way because it is a tad bit messy. Design This remarkable design comes with six interchangeable caps for different decorating techniques.

So easy to use.

I love this decorator. I have taken classes and have the equipment to decorate cakes as professionals do. However, when it comes to cupcakes or smaller items, I always pull out this decorator instead. It has a variety of tips that allow for smooth or ridged piping as well as a tip that allows you to fill items like cream puffs or cupcakes. I love to add a little filling to cupcakes as a surprise! I use this for other things as well. I make fudge and, after it cools a little, I fill the canister and make use the decorator to make little fudge kisses. I often give these as gift at Christmas. The decorator also makes lovely deviled eggs. Ease of Cleaning As with most Pampered Chef products, this decorator disassembles completely which makes it a breeze to clean up. Durability Mine has seen heavy use for about 12 years. It is still functional, but beginning to show some wear. I've been considering purchasing a replacement. Design The action of the pump makes it easy to use, and not incredibly tiring on my hands. I would imagine that it is much easier for someone who has grip problems or arthritis, than a pastry bag would be.

A great little item, with tons of uses! Makes cupcakes a breeze

I am a baker, but definitely not artistic or creative when it comes to decorating cakes.. I swore I would NEVER bake another cupcake - I can't stand the time it takes to frost them. With this item you are done in no time, and the result is a beautifully decorated cupcake that looks professional. The first time I brought cupcakes to a bake sale, the first comment was, "what no rice krispy treats," because that what I usually make. When they were done teasing me, the girls accused me of buying my cupcakes, that's how great they looked. I've even used canned frosting bought at the store, and it's amazing how much better it tastes when it's swirled on. People have commented that it's difficult to fill. I usually put it in a coffee mug, which hold it upright, and then just plop it in. I've found that method works very well. A great item, glad I bought it.

Easy Accent Decorator - Definitely Easy

*Disclaimer: I sell Pampered Chef because I love it, rather than the other way around.* My husband could tell you - I can bake. But decorate a cake (or anything, really) with icing, and I'm at a loss. Somehow my artistic abilities (which aren't completely lacking) have never been transferred to an icing bag. Writing, piping, edging - not so much. I have made many an ugly cake for my husband (which is sad because the cakes he's made for my birthday - only three days before his - are always adorable). The Easy Accent Decorator was my last hope for being able to make anything bordering on cute for our children's future birthday parties (I've left the last two birthdays up to my daughter's wonderfully capable grandmothers). After finally obtaining this much-needed, tool, I put it to the test to make a football cake (thank you, Classic Batter Bowl!) in honor of the Super Bowl (really, the game was an excuse as no one in this home is an avid sports fan). And the Decorator sure did go to work. My football had grass around it! And it was cute! The laces and stripes turned out adorable! I can decorate! I love it! The shaft is easy to fill and the entire Decorator is dishashwer safe, so that's wonderful. The pump action works nicely and smoothly. My one grievance is that this tool has specified tips designed only for the Easy Accent Decorator. So you are very limited. Clearly it was designed primarily for *accents* and was not necessarily meant to be your only tool for decorating with icing. But for those of us who would like to do that, some more choices for tips would be nice. The six it comes with are a nice beginning - but there is more I would like to do (there isn't even a flat tip). Overall, though, I would recommend this purchase to anyone who is, like me, decorating challenged - or would just like to have an easier time with it.

So I got talked into attending ANOTHER Pampered Chef party...I love the products, but I can usually find comparable items in the store for much cheaper. I have alot of their items from their catalog, but needed to pick something so my daughter could get the credit she needed. I chose this decorator because I hate filling deviled eggs. I was very impressed.  It is easy to use, easy to clean, and makes people very impressed with my culinary abilities! So far I have only used it for deviled eggs and Christmas cookies, but when I get a chance, I think it will make some very pretty cupcakes. People think I spent so much time decorating, but it really is so easy to do. It is simple to fill the container, easy to press out the icing or filling, and cleans up in a snap. I still think the Pampered Chef products are a little pricey, but I am glad I bought this decorator and I would definitely recommend it to others who want to impress their friends!

Least favorite product from Pampered Chef

I love the thought of this product, but have never had any luck with it. As a gal who loves to bake and decorate (even if it's something as simple as piping a pretty edge around a cupcake or make fancy deviled eggs) I thought this would be the answer to all of the messy and expensive products like bags, tips, etc. typically used for decorating needs.  I used this decorator about three times before very nearly giving up all together. After I've loaded the tube with icing and gotten it ready to go, inevitably the top pops off it I put too much pressure on the thumb button.  I end up with a huge mess - kind of defeating the purpose for which the product was purchased.  I do still use it for decorating with whipped cream. That seems to be light enough that the top stays attached to the tube and it works reasonably well.  Just wish it was more durable and easy to use - I hate having a product in my arsenal that is nearly worthless to me.

Easy Accent Decorator: Helps You Decorate Like A Pro!

I actually got the Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator by mistake.  I had ordered something similar for my host special, but received this product instead.  I didn't want to mess with correcting the order, so I just put the decorator away.  I finally decided to give it a try to make my daughter's birthday cake this year.  After that use, I kicked myself for not using the decorator more often!  Since making her cake, I have used the decorator to ice my mini cupcakes for my daughter's preschool class, and just used it today to ice my son's birthday cupcakes. I did not have any real problems filling the decorator with icing.  I used a small spatula to fill the tube.  My icing was about room temperature when I filled the decorator.  It wasn't soft enough that it wasn't going to hold its shape, but also not hard enough that it was going to be tough pushing it out of the decorator tip. The Easy Accent Decorator comes with six tips, and a cap that you can screw on to refrigerate any leftover icing.  It is also dishwasher safe, so that's a lot easier than cleaning decorator bags and the little metal tips!  This product is ideal for cupcakes, cake edging, deviled eggs, and twice baked potatoes.

Pretty but hard to use

2

I purchased this Pampered Chef accent decorator after seeing a consultant use it at a show.  It looked so easy and I thought of all the possibilities.  I have used this several times since purchasing, and the results most often look quite pretty, but there the good things about it stop.  I tried a Pampered Chef deviled egg recipe (that suggested using the decorator to pipe the filling in the eggs).  The filling was so thick, I almost broke the decorator trying to pump it down and certainly strained my hand.  All this to say, unless your filling/icing is pretty thin, it is very hard to pump it through the different decorator tips (any of them).  My greater complaint is that it is so hard to fill without making a complete mess.  It is almost not worth the effort.  If Pampered Chef could figure out a way to make it less messy to fill and less strain on the hands when piping, this product would be fantastic because the different tips do make beautiful products.  It can be machine washed though.
