T/Sal is the best!

5

My doctor recommended I try using a dandruff shampoo on my my face to treat dermatitis. I tried T/Gel first and it worked good. But, T/Sal works a lot better. I started using it as a body wash and it's great for treating my acne and dry/sensitive skin issues on my back and legs. My doctor told me to lather it up and leave it on for as long as I can (he said 10min - which seems like forever when it's on my face). But, the doc was right - it's amazing!

Works better than other products

I have minor dandruff and scalp buildup problems, primarily concentrated around my hairline. I tried Head and Shoulders (does absolutely nothing for me) and Selsun Blue (stings a little, also does nothing). I wasn't interested in trying tar treatments, so when I found Neutrogena's T/Sal, I figured I'd give it a shot. It's definitely not a magic treatment, but it's kept my dandruff at bay for the past year or so. I used it every day or every other day initially but eventually scaled back to about once a week. I still get dandruff and buildup from time to time, but I can get it under control pretty quickly with this, and it's a lot better than digging through my pantry looking for home scalp exfoliator ingredients. Effectiveness Not perfect and probably not effective for serious cases, but good for minor scalp problems. Scent Not really scented, which I prefer.

Smells sooooo good

In order to survive a New England winter, one needs a few things: A snowblower, a good pair of snow boots, and a whole lotta moisturizer to combat dry skin caused by snowy conditions and dry hair inside caused by heat. Maybe I don't have super dry skin, but it seems like most lotions/moisturizers I use leave my skin feeling clammy or greasy or they simply don't moisturize well. I discovered Neutrogena's Body Oil after reading an article about how good olive oil is for your skin. Not wanting to risk smelling like a Caesar salad, I tried this product, instead. I'm so glad I did. All it takes is a tablespoon or so added to a bath to relieve tight, itchy skin. Plus, the gentle gardenia scent is amazing. By the time I've tried off, my skin feels soft and smooth, not greasy, and is lightly scented--which, pretty much, is what everyone wants out of a bath product. This product may be teetering on expensive, but it's worth it.

Relief from winter itching and dryness

During the winter, my arms and legs get very dry.  When I use lotion, it does not provide me relief.  But this Neutrogena Body Oil feels like it penetrates into my skin and keeps it soft the whole day.  Additionally, its weird but I feel warmer in the cold.  Mabe a property of oil?  Everyone should try this.

doesn't do enough for scalp build-up to justify the price

I bought this shampoo a couple months ago for my husband, who has some problems with dandruff, but his main issue is that his scalp gets really dry when it starts getting colder and he has tons of dead skin building up and flaking off constantly. He'd been using the Neutrogena T-Gel anti-dandruff shampoo, and it wasn't helping a ton, so I figured this might work better since it wasn't just for dandruff. However, it hasn't fixed his problem either. He's used it pretty much every other day for a couple months (alternating with his regular shampoo, as suggested on the T-Sal bottle), but he still has tons of dead skin flaking off. When he first started using it, he noticed right away that it loosened up the dead skin really well (so he had TONS of flaking going on and looked awful for a few days), but since then it hasn't done much. Maybe better than regular shampoo, but not good enough to be worth the price tag.

T/Sal worked to clean hair but was not very Therapeutic.

**Johnson & Johnson Neutrogena T/Sal Therapeutic Shampoo Scalp Build up Control 4.5 fl oz did not live up to my expectations.  I bought this shampoo because I had really really dry and flaky scalp.  Not just dandruff but scaly yellow scabby scalp on the back of my head.  I figured it was a combination of dry scalp and buildup from shampoo and conditioner.  I used this shampoo about 3 times a week until it was gone.  It did not help much at all with the flaky scaley skin on my head.  It worked ok as a shampoo.  I mean I really think all shampoos are the same.  I really wish this would have worked as labeled.  My current condtion may be worse than others, so my review of this product may not be the same as the next persons.  I lathered the shampoo into my hair and scalp.  I would leave it on for 3-5 minutes like the directions said.  Then I would thoroughly rinse.  While my hair WAS clean, I did not see any therapuetic results. **

Makes me Silky all over...

They call it the sensual moisturizer.  Is it?  In Sarah Palin's words, "You Betcha!"I absolutely LOVE **Neutrogena's Body Oil** [light sesame formula].  The 16 ounce bottle sits on the corner of my tub and is a gentle reminder that I need to splash it freely on my legs after bathing.  I adore the light fragrance that fills the bathroom when using it but more importantly I appreciate the way it vanishes into my skin to moisturize and protect my skin from the harsh rubbing of my jeans.  I have tried many a body oil and nothing can hold a candle to this one.  Use it right after taking a shower or bathing.  It will help seal in the moisture from the bath and leave you feeling a bit sensual with soft, silky skin.  In the winter I squirt a tiny bit into the tub as it fills.  The oil disperses quickly but clings to your skin when you get out.  Heavenly! One word of caution:  Don't add too much or you will find it hard to get out of the tub!  LOL**Ingredients:**Isopropyl Myristate, Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Seed Oil, PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate, Propylparaben, BHT, Fragrance

Great Smelling Yet Very Deceiving

1

Hello Everyone,   Ok, so.....I am getting older and I'm trying to learn how to start "preventative" care for aging skin. So, I realize that I need to start moisturizing, properly cleansing, and treating my skin. After my shower I put this Neutrogena Sesame body oil on my skin. (It has to work right?) Anyway, it is smelling great and I'm happy that I'm maturing and taking care of myself when I wake up the next morning and oh no........my legs look as if I've rubbed baby powder on them. So........I rub them and think, they are kind of rough. When I look closely and run my nail across the surface, I realize that this stuff dried my skin out. My legs were so ashy. To end this great story-I would never purchase this again. Better luck next time. :)
