I have moderate asthma that is toward the more severe end of the spectrum, so I do find myself dealing with serious breathing issues several times per year.  My doctor ordered me a nebulizer machine to deliver vaporized medication more easily to my lungs (instead of from an inhaler) which was supposed to help to prevent my occasional visits to the emergency room.  She also ordered *Ipratropium Bromide and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution* for me to use with the machine. Each 3 mL vial of solution contains 0.5 mg of ipratropium bromide and 3.0 mg of albuterol sulfate, both of which are bronchodilators: medications that help to open up tight airways in the respiratory system.  It is basically the same combination of asthma medications that I normally use in the rescue inhaler that the pulmonologist prescribed for me, Combivent.  This *Ipratropium Bromide and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution *is available only with a prescription.  It is a generic version should the price should be reasonable but I can't say that for sure as I don't have to pay for my long-term maintenance medications.  Does this *Combivent Nebulizer Solution* work? Yes, it usually works.  If my asthma is acting up and my regular inhaler doesn't seem to work, I do a few treatments of this *Ipratropium Bromide and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation Solution* and I'm usually feeling much better.  That being said, there are still a few occasions where even this inhaled medication doesn't work and I have to go to the doctor (or ER) for albuterol tablets and a prednisone pack.  This product isn't a miracle-worker but it is something that I find very valuable to keep on hand at all times because it does help me to avoid the trip to the emergency room on many occasions.  Recommended!
