I love the Mr. Coffee GTF2-1 Basket-style Gold Tone Permanent Filter! It is great to be able to use it over and over and not have to keep buying papaer filters. I have saved so much money by using this type of filter. I just rinse it very well after every use and then it is ready for the next time that I make coffee. I also use to make tea for iced or hot tea. I just put my tea bags in the filter and it is ready to go. What a great invention! I wish someone had invented this type of filter a lot sooner,but I am sure happy to be able to use them now. It really is a wonderful addition to my kitchen and I know many other people that enjoy using them too. The price really isn't bad considering how much money it will save you in the many times you will use it for making your coffee. I have considered purchasing another filter to have as an extra and also it owuld be handy to give to a family member or friend as a much needed gift.

One of the worst things about being a coffee drinker is realizing that you are out of coffee filters. I had that happen more than a few times and thought that getting a permanent filter to replace a paper filter would be a great way to go. You can use this as a replacement part or instead of using a paper filter that gets thrown out with the coffee grinds. Even though it is a Mr. Coffee product it is compatible with other manufacturers. The side of the box lists the Mr. Coffee models that this will worth with so before you spend the money on it, make sure you have the exact model number with you when you are shopping. There's no need to use a paper liner inside of this; it does a good job of keeping the grinds from finding their way in to your coffee however the extremely fine grit from fresh ground coffee could end up making its way through the mesh of the basket. Keeping this clean is a necessity if you want great tasting coffee. I scrubbed mine with a stiff shall head brush to make sure that it would not get clogged. You can rinse it if you are in a hurry but to avoid having water back up in the filter you need to clean it on a regular basis. If you aren't going to clean this on a regular basis your coffee will develop a strange smell to it; the same smell that can form inside the plastic filter sleeve over time because of the contact with the coffee while it is brewing.

I was so tired of using paper coffee filters. Sometimes the filter would fold over on itself, leaving tons of grounds in my coffee. Or I would run out and not be able to have a cup of coffee one morning. Or I'd accidentally use 2 because they are so thin and I'd end up wasting them! When I saw this reusable filter, I knew I had to try it. It is nice and sturdy and, unlike some others I looked at, has a little handle which makes it easy to remove from the coffee maker. The only thing I don't like about it is that it takes a little longer to clean than a paper filter that you can just toss, but I also like that I'm making less trash! This coffee filter works really well and fits most standard coffee makers!

The Mr. Coffee basket style Gold re-usable filter is the best. Now, I like a good, strong cup of tar in the morning. My Mom had given me one of these filters and I just put it in the cabinet and forgot all about it. Then came the morning of horror when I realized I didn't have any paper filters. Amazingly in my horrified mental state at that moment, I remembered that my Mom had given me a Gold filter. I tore through the cabinets til I found it. I loaded it up with coffee as I always did my paper filters and brewed the coffee as usual. I couldn not believe how much better that cup of coffee tasted. The Mr. Coffee basket style Gold re-usable filter allows for the flavor of the coffee to come through instead of getting caught up in the fibers of the paper filters. It is easy to wash in hot, soapy water and rinse well. I haven not bought paper filters in over 4 years. If you love your coffee like I do, give the Gold re-uasble a try. You'll never go back.

I have a Mr. Coffee pot that uses filters like all of the coffee makers do. It has a stainless-steel thermal carafe, that keeps your coffee hot and fresh for a long time with out the pot staying turned on.  I just love it. But when I got it  i was having a problem with it, a lot of times the coffee filter would fall over and grounds would get in the little drain hole making the water back up over the top of ground basket and making  water and grounds run all over counter. A BIG mess. I was just about ready to send it back when I found this, Mr. Coffee GTF2-1 Basket-style Gold Tone Permanent Filter at Amazon.Com. It has solved my problem it works great.  You can clean easily under running water and its also dishwasher safe. Nevers clogs up. The gounds stay in the filter and not in your coffee. You can add a filter if you like, but if you are like me, budget conscious I try not to waste no more then I have to.
