It's a little disconcerting that this microwave is smarter than I am. It has many functions and features. But, I find I only use a few of the features it has to offer. My grandfather and father were both Maytag men. They passed that passion onto me. My first Maytag microwave only lasted for five years before the motor burnt out. So, I am very leery of Maytag quality now. But, the replacement model works well and meets my needs. Food heats and cooks as directed. I use the auto-defrost feature every day. You can also insert a cup of coffee and press the beverage button - and the hot coffee comes out perfect. The commands seem intuitive. It was a pain to mount initially and it did not fit the mounting of the previous Maytag microwave very well. My only complaint is that this model does not have a feature to "soften butter". I really like this microwave and hope it lasts longer than the previous model.

I spent a lot of time deciding which over the stove microwave to buy to replace my countertop model. My basic requirements were price (low), color (white) and function (turn table, buttons) and easy to install (ha ha). I decided on this model because I liked the front of the venting area being flat, instead of having ridges which will undoubtedly get caked with some kind of greasy film, and be harder to clean. So far the cleaning of the outside of the unit is quite simple, probably for this reason. The installation of the unit was a bit time consuming, but unless you pay someone to do this for you, it's probably par for the course. It comes with instructions, but who reads those? It's not that heavy, but you do need 2 people to install it once you are screwing it into the cupboards. One to hold it up and one to screw the screws into the top. It's a standard sized item, so if you have a normal sized stove with a normal sized opening above it, you should be fine. I don't measure a lot of things before I buy them, I just forget and hope for the best. It's a nice unit, I am happy with it.

Fantastic space saving device that doubles as your stove hood too (and it wasn't very complicated to install). Though the additional space has been great and really helps the kitchen look less cluttered, it isn't the best quality.  Within a couple of years using, the vent got loose and started slipping every time I opened the door. I am afraid that one day I'll forget and slam the vent into the microwave door. Also, it isn't a very attractive looking appliance. It looks very old fashion and doesn't come off as high quality. I wish that these had come in stainless steel so that it could have at least matched my other appliances and looked a little nicer. The matieral of the microwave holds onto grease and dirt and the color makes it very easy to see. This is particularly had when the microwave is right above the stove where there will be frequent grease coming off of the stove. Not very easy to clean or too attractive either
