I love to bake but for a long time I was unable to because the mixing and kneading was too much for my carpel tunnel to handle. I wanted a mixer thinking it would make things easier and I almost bought the KitchenAid off Walmarts shelf until I did some research and learned that making bread in them will tear the motor up in no time. I had to save a little longer to get this one but I am glad that I did because a few months later and it is still going strong. It does take up a lot of room but I guess that is par for the course. I gave it only 8 instead of ten because when it is operating it always makes this low "grinding" sound and it scares me that the gears might be wearing out or the motor working too hard and there is always a little bit of powder on the bottom that doesn't get mixed in when we are making cookies or something. Otherwise it is great and I would totally buy another one again. Mixing Performance Has trouble mixing the very bottom of the bowl but the rest is great. Durability The "grinding" sound it makes when mixing scares me that it will wear out but so far in the few months we have had it I have had no problems at all.
